Remarks

The faculty and support provided by the teachers are awesome and keeps the student motivated always. I chose this college over other colleges as this college focused even on the personality development of the student. Overall management is done from academics to cultural activities. The laboratory facilities are available with permission and are efficient for conducting research from the second yr of bsc. biotechnology. The only bad aspect of the college which I felt is the crowd I.e students here..it is not the college's fault ofcourse but you have to choose wisely whether to study sincerely or just mingle around. To be honest the faculty is awesome and supportive. Every detail of the college and faculty is given on the college website www.hislop.in . The biotechnology department has it's own building and infrastructure is good overall many beautiful species of plants are there which helps with botany.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose biotechnology as my main subject with zoology, chemistry, English and Supplementary English as my subjects. I chose this course as mixing biology with technology is what the future would be made up of . Seeing such wide diversity in a field I chose this course. Every faculty has done PhD in there field of interest and has minimum experience of 10 years. After a unit is over tests are conducted on a regular basis. Passing depends on our studying.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

In the second year of the graduation period internships are provided to students who are worth and are performing well all over the place . Academics as well as socially both the fields should be good and active .

Fees and Financial Aid

The maximum fee is 26k and scholarships are provided to many students . In the second year, some deserving students would get internships which are both paid or unpaid depending upon the company .The fee structure is different for other caste groups.

Campus Life

2.5

Being a student of the batch 2020-23 we have not attended physically any event. All events conducted are online The first event was the ice-breaking session which was to explore talents in the students. Many students participated and all were kindly appreciated by the principal and the faculty . Regular webinars and competitions are conducted in order to maintain the student's interests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
