Remarks

Located at my home district. One of the best colleges for btech studies. Admission was on August 2018 State Merit seat, students were called according to admission approvals. Course Curriculum Overview

EEE had many job opportunities and diversion capabilities. 1:60 faculty-student ratio is comforting. Faculties are highly qualified Doctorates and professional professors. Teaching methods are convenient and student-friendly. But not all of them are. Exams are regular every month. Sem exams are challenging.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are offered by Kerala State Electricity Board in nearby substations. Kelton provides stipend. KEL gives an internship certificate on completing basics of transformer manufacturing.

Placement Experience

Campus placement procedures started in the third year . Students became eligible by 7 th semester. College is visited by Oracle, Wipro, TES. Highest package offered is 50k per month. Almost all students gets placement. I'm going for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is comforting. Scholarships are available for economically backward students. Either tution fee or exam fee waiver schemes are available.I got an AICTE fee waiver scheme for having a family annual income of less than 2.5 lakh

Campus Life

Dyuthi is our annual college fest. Resonance is our department tech fest usually conducted in March month. A resourceful central library is available, with student-friendly staff. Almost all course-related books are issued along with additional literature books. Yearly sports events take place which is the best time ever for me personally. IEEE,NSS, OASIS and many more social groups are run.

Hostel Facilities

I was Paying Guest in a house rented called Tharavad boys Hostel. Each room accommodates 4 students total of 15 students. The meal was arranged in a neighborhood by Bindhu chechi. It was located 1 km away from the college.

Hostel Fee: INR 12000 per year

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum is lakhs relevance to modern industry demands. while it covers the basics there is minimum focus on practical skills emerging technologies and real world applications overall, the courses not comprehensive enough.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

College and faculties promote and provide chances for Industrial visit in industries all over India. The faculties of our college are well experienced and with better qualifications. Prof Rajesh Menon of the mechanical department is a gold medalist from IIT MADRAS.

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.
