Remarks
I had applied for a couple of colleges all through my WBJEE & JEE Mains counselling specifically Academy Of Technology, Hooghly Engineering & Technological College, Techno India University, Sister Nivedita University. But I opted for JISCE in the view that it is well-reputed and is also closed from my locality. Additionally, I had obtained the Tuition Fee Waiver facility. JISCE admits its students via JEE & WBJEE counselling, The cutoff of every difference differs but for our ECE department the cutoff in no way crossed 40000. Sometimes the cutoff was as low as 24000. There is no specified age restriction for the admission process. During Counselling days we had been requested to carry our photocopies of official documents, namely our Domicile Certificate, Aadhar Card, College Allotment Letter, etc. They asked me to apply for online admission on the College Website. After verifying my Documents I was finally accepted at JISCE.
Course Curriculum Overview
I loved Electronics and would reassemble some broken toys since I was young so I opted for Electronics and Communication Engineering. There are a 1:12 faculty to student ratio at our college. Course curriculum and Faculties of our college is really good. They have good qualifications. Although The exams were in online mode in no way something could cheat because the college software didn't permit so. Additionally, each class had 2 sets of question papers. However, the students were all confident and there was no need for malpractice since our syllabus would be covered 2 weeks before the examination and The professors would conduct extra classes around 9 pm every night. Attending them was not mandatory but most of us never missed them.
Placement Experience
Although Multiple core companies come to our college for giving placements the salary isn't high. It generally is in the range of 2.5 LPA to 5 LPA. However, there have also been rare circumstances where someone had acquired 6/7LPA. The Common Companies that visit the college includes TCS, CAPGEMINI, WIPRO, INFOSYS, etc. But in rare cases, Amazon has also accepted our seniors. Although most of the seniors start Internships from the 6th sem there are also some students like me who are in the 2nd sem and are also doing internships. On average around 78% of students get placements. I'll be going for a job after my B. Tech and if I'm confident enough I'll also give my GATE after my 4th year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our College has a high fee structure however the Professors always share any scholarships they have for the students. There's also the Tuition Fee Waiver facility at our college and I'm one of the recipients so I don't need to give any fees other than Rs 1200 for the semester exams. Additionally, The colleges also provide Loan opportunities for poor students.
Campus Life
Since we're having a Lockdown so I don't have any experience of my Campus Life. However, there are multiple clubs available in our college, technical as well as entertainment activities are organized in those clubs. I'm a part of Photography, Environment, Publication Clubs and have participated as well as organized multiple events. They have almost every sports activity in the college like swimming pool, cricket ground, etc. Although I haven't actually experienced my Campus Life still these virtual events are also a good memory.
