My Experience in GE University

My family lives in Uttarakhand and my mother is sickly so I wanted to stay in Uttarakhand in case of any emergencies. Thankfully with my JEE scores (which were not very good) I got admission in Graphic Era University which is ranked the best private university in Uttarakhand. The merit list is prepared on the basis of 10+2 percentage and the JEE Main Score. I know that there is a way to get direct admission for meritorious students solely based on 10+2 percentage but I do not know the exact process. I think it involves applying on the portal online.

My department of Computer Science and Engineering curriculum, in my opinion, helps us become well-versed not only with traditional computing approaches but our professors also encourage us to experiment with modern tools, technologies, and diverse applications. Our program has a comprehensive set of fundamental courses in computer science and many electives. This enables us to build a program most suitable to our needs and interests, one of my favourite things. I think it also helps us prepare to work in the IT industry as well as in the research areas like computer vision, machine learning, image processing, pattern recognition, virtual/augmented reality, etc. Our professors also provides current research trends for us, which is great as I want to take up higher studies in CS. The faculty to student ratio is very wholesome and we have internals and assessments on a regular basis so as not to go out of touch.

The places in the university are good but the placement in my department are the best! Our campus during placements really buzz with life with hundreds of recruiters around. I have seen our seniors get placed with top companies like Adobe, Zscaler and get very attractive packages. We, Graphiaans have great employability. Last I heard, the average package this year is 6 LPA but the highest was from our department and 44 LPA.

The fees for all four years for my course is about 13 lakhs, which to be honest is on the higher side. I do not know any of the scholarship opportunities but one can find out from the university office I guess. But the good thing is we can get the state or national need cum merit scholarships. I know that one of my friends is a recipient of a Uttarakhand State scholarships which waives off a part of his fees.

My campus life is great because for one thing it is Dehradun which means the weather here throughout is amazing. We have great sports and sporting facilities which is even better in Dehradun weather. The campus is picturesque and very green. We have a lot of seminars and conferences throughout the year as well which are great to attend.
