Remarks

When I entered the college for first time in July'16, there was a heavy crowd at the time of admission, but the volunteers were very helpful as they were guiding properly in which room we have to go and from which teacher have to get the form signed.I was little disappointed by college infrastructure as it wasn't properly maintained and also far away from my expectations. I wanted to switch the college but others were very far from my home. In August'16, we had our first class, and the way teacher teaches us is very unbelievable. Everything from basics is covered and we are even taught complex topics with ease. Also, a lot of practical experience is given using various software which wasn't taught in other colleges of University. So after graduation, we had a feeling like we were a way ahead of others in the field of statistics as out basics were clear and more practical knowledge. Also, during these 3 years, our college developed a lot in terms of infrastructure and also new courses were introduced. College has always focused very much on sports, if you are interested in any sports, just apply for auditions, if you are selected then you will be provided with proper coach and diet for further training that will prepare you for University level tournaments.I will definitely suggest this college for knowledge, the faculty of department of statistics is so good, also teachers are not highly qualified and friendly but, they know how to share their knowledge with the students so that students will grasp the concept easily.I get to know about this from Quora as lot of people sharef their experience on that platform.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is very vast. It covers all the topics from basic which is required to work in industry as a role of statistician, data scientist, etc. When you graduate after 3 years, you will be company ready, as you will be having enough practical and subject knowledge to get a good job.Faculty: student ratio was around 1:5.The faculty of department of statistics is so good, also teachers are not highly qualified and friendly but, they know how to share their knowledge with the students so that students will grasp the concept easily. Also,a few teacher were even author of some international books on statistics and also worked on a lot of projects. To pass the exam you need to be very active in class and you must attend the classes. As attendance is given 5% weightage. And after every 1-2topics we had internal exam, but only best 2 score are counted and given 20% weightage. So, internal exams is like every 2-3 weeks. But end sem exam is after 4-5months followed by practical exams.Practical was of 50 marks, of which 5 is for viva and 15 is for your performance in lab. Remaining 30 is for the practical exam.So one has to be very active in his/her studies to pass with good percentage.

Placement Experience

2

No major placement as of now. A few companies do visit campus for placement but package or role offered is not satisfactory. But you will be trained enough with subject and practical knowledge that you will be company ready and always a step ahead of others in placement process or any higher studies you want to pursue in thus field. One can go for Masters in Statistics from DU, BHU or IIT by clearing their entrance exam. But, if you completed your graduation from DU, you have 50% reserved seats in masters which are distributed in terms of merit.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Affordable fees for the course, if you will look at the classes and lab provided, you will be highly satisfied with the fees structure.Every year beginning we have to pay tuition fees which is Rs. 11000/- approximately. And also for each end exam we used to pay exam fees of Rs. 1200 approx. depending on number of written and practical exams.College also provide with the scholarship but, for that you have to go through the written test and then qualified students get the scholarship. The college lacks terms of campus job.

Campus Life

4

Life at a campus is like living in a total different world. The campus is very happening as a lot of activities are going around. There were various different clubs also to enhance student's characteristic in a specific field. Every department organize their fest individually and also one grand college fest every year with the help of students in these clubs as they have those skills to make a event successful. The college has the biggest library in South campus, even iPad were available in library to access online material. Also, the sitting in library is so awesome that one can easily study for hours. As I mentioned earlier, college focuses a lot on sports and extracurricular, if you got selected in any sports or clubs, you will be provided with proper guidance to improve your that specific skill and also refreshments were provided to motivate students to work hard.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
