Amazing life

Everything is good other than the college management. After course completion students must get an opportunity to sit for an interview for job,students hardly get chance to prove themselves which is very sad. College brings many companies for other streams but for marine engineers hardly 1-2 companies come. And for other streams as well companies sometime turn out to be fake one. When students try to raise their voice against this system, they are treated brutally. They are made to give fines or put behind bars. Twice it has happened to our batch that principal brought police in campus and put students behind bars and made every single student of the batch to pay fine of Rs 25000 only because it was a misconduct that we raised our voice to get a chance to get job!!

JEE. I chose this college because this was the only good college in west bengal providing marine engineering course.and reasons behind choosing marine engineering are many. We get chance to roam around the world,no headache of going to work daily and back to home.our workplace is our home,we get chance to interact with multi ethnic people, learn their culture. Package is exciting, after long term work,a long term holiday is what we cannot get in any other field. Admission process is very simple, just get a good rank in the competitive exam and opt for this college for this course.

Course structure is very well divided as per semesters. At the completion of course you find yourself well known to things you need to perform practically during work

No,college does not provide internship. But there is a workshop where we perform practical jobs which are carried out on ships and that is mandatory for the course.

Placement depends upon the market condition and as it is the recession period, college is hardly able to place their students. So,a must think issue before getting admitted. Because knowledge is just not sufficient to get a job,opportunity is required too..initially college used to give very good efforts to place their students, placement that time used to be over 90%. Now it has come down below 25%. College doesn't spend enough to bring companies in college.

Freshers, Fests, Farewells are the common things. Other that that all the festivals are celebrated by students in college. Since it is necessary for students to stay in hostel in college campus, so environment is very nice. almost everyone takes part in events. Robotics, cultural programmes, sports are held at periodic intervals.

Marine engineering is expensive that other engineering streams.but in this college, it is lesser compared to other colleges. Now it is around 1,20,000 per semester which is really high.

Campus life is amazing. It is a very big lush green campus with fields, swimming pool, gymnasium, cafeteria, canteen inside the campus. There is no need of stepping outside the campus. No gender inequality, workshop and labs are maintained in clean condition. No issues such as ethnicity,race,sexual,political stuffs. Overall a good college.

Hostel food is very good for marine engineering students.. For other students, food is not so good because marine engineering students stay in separate hostel and food their is very good.

Yes seniors are very important they help in every aspect, whether studies or any other needs.

Exam structure is nice. This is normally organised by WBUT which is not troublesome. And also the internal tests are arranged as per convenience of students.

Faculty is very good .. All the faculties are the ones retired from this stream,they were once chief engineers or captains. So they are highly knowledgeable and highly experienced. They try to share every bit of their experience which would be helpful for students
