About Heritage Institute of Technology

I am a West Bengal JEE candidate for 2020. Thus during my admissions, Covid 19 pandemic was going on. The admissions were conducted through the online portal of the WBJEE board. I had options to select from Heritage and some contemporary colleges. However, Heritage was among my top preferred college because of its world-class facilities. The criteria of admissions were based on your JEE rank.

I chose ECE because my preference was a subject that has components of Computer and Electrical Engineering both. The faculty is world-class here with maximum teachers having a PhD in their respective fields and others having a Masters. Due to the Covid pandemic, online classes were held beautifully. However, there are some teachers whose teaching style is not appropriate for my understanding.

Heritage Institute of Technology being among the top 5 colleges of West Bengal provides plenty of internship opportunities. The summer internship program often allows students to take part in foreign internships. Some students even get the chance to work at prestigious institutions like the Indian Statistical Institute.

Heritage was one of the few institutes in Bengal to provide placements even in the time of the pandemic. Thus it is evident that the placement cell is pretty powerful here. Every year many companies starting from TCS to even Amazon come for placements offering an average package of 5 LPA and sometimes these reach as high as 12 LPA. Almost 60% of students are placed.

The fees structure for WBJEE candidates is standard and affordable. It costs me less than 1 lakh per annum, which is quite affordable considering the fees of other colleges which is generally twice or even thrice the price. There are no scholarship programs for 1st-year students.

Heritage provides a huge campus with world-class amenities. The library is massive, consisting of books for every subject. It is one of the largest libraries I have ever seen. Heritage takes care of extracurricular activities. There are 2 massive fields. 2 basketball courts and 2 badminton courts. Clubs for all things an engineering student can ask for is here.
