Remarks

I have applied for LSR in the first go but couldn't get Philosophy honors in the same due to percentage deduction on change of stream. I have applied to Daulat Ram College but later changed my mind and came to Kamala Nehru College for BA in Economics plus Maths combination. Further saw that I cleared the cut-off list for Gargi College too. I found that Gargi College has a better rank than KNC. So went to Gargi college and got enrolled there. But after studying for a week, I found that I couldn't cope with Maths and Economics both, as a result of which finally. I swapped to B.Com honors, the one stream which I had in my class 11th and 12th. I have availed of an EWS certificate due to which I got the advantage of enrolling in my course by 0.5% reduction in the cut-off. Admission criteria for B.Com Hons was 94% in 7th cut off list with no age limit, the subject being Commerce and Maths I must say that the admission process was quite tedious as I had to up walk to 3rd floor at least 4 times for the same

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I had the same steam in my school. And found it to be the best possible option. Considering the semesters that have been passed, the student-teacher ratio is 1:10. The student-faculty ratio is appropriate according to me. The faculty is no doubt well qualified with each professor having a master's degree and Ph.D. or equivalent degree. There are few professors who teach the way we were taught in school with diligence, on the other hand, there are a few who don't really teach up to the mark. Terms are all planned as per the schedule that is every five months with a summer break of 2 months approximately from June to mid-July. The exams are not too difficult to pass. They are doable, but in each sem, there is a paper that is a bit more difficult than the others.

Placement Experience

2

College placements usually start from the 5th semester. I don't know much about the college placement as I am not a part of the placement cell and I haven't been into a placement drive. I want to pursue MBA after getting my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fee hike policy in DU as a whole. The same goes for my college. A greater proportion of courses lie in the range of Rs.10000 to Rs. 50000 a year which is quite low in comparison to other colleges. But the cost to study in Delhi is far more than the college fees. This is because of the costly accommodation in the area surrounded by colleges. The colleges which do not have their hostels, one being mine pose a difficulty for students to pay for expensive accommodation to live near your college. The PGs, hostels, and flats provided in these areas range from Rs. 10000 to Rs. 25000 a month. Adding up petty expenses cost on an average of about Rs. 15000 a month for each student including meals.

Campus Life

The Annual fest Reverie is held each year in the month of February, the one for which everyone awaits. It's a three-day fest with a star night on the last day. A variety of events, stalls, and performances are exhibited this day. Moreover, each department of the college conducts fest one-day fest consisting of seminars, activities, stalls, and canteen coupons. There are plenty of books and journals available in the library. Subjects are separated through a different section for each one. Librarians guide to find the exact material. There's an air-conditioned room for students where they read silently whatever they wish to read. The classroom is well equipped with furniture and a white screen. The only flaw with these classes is that they are small to accommodate the whole class comfortably due to a shortage of space, benches, and desks. There is a separate sports association that enrolls students interested in sports and conducts various games and tournaments. Enactus Gargi is run by students

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
