Remarks

I had applied to various colleges and universities like delhi university, GGSIPU and Kerala university. I have not availed of any quotas as i was a general category candidate. If you want to enroll in this institution, you have to clear the IPU CET exam because IPU admission is primarily entranced based. According to the ranks the candidates are allotted various colleges under IPU. I got a rank of around 2k and i was allotted in jims, kalkaji morning shift. Our college had a cut-off of around 1500-3500.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took B.com(Hons) because B.com(Hons) is more business-oriented and in-depth it is highly for making a great career in CA. There are 60 students in my class and the faculty-student ratio was 1:60. The faculties are highly qualified, well trained and they are very cooperative. The teaching methods of faculties are really good. In our college, each semester has one internal exam and one external exam and the internal exams are easier than external exams.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The college offers internship roles provided by many companies like CollegeDunia, BuziBrains, Younity, Campus2corporate etc. The average stipend is around RS 5k- RS 20k but the stipend is based on the performance of each intern. After 4th semester it is compulsory for all the students to do an internship atleast for 45 days for their summer internship project. The project is to be prepared on the basis of the intership the student has done.

Placement Experience

4

From 3 years students become eligible for campus placements. companies like Asian paints, Decathlon, kent, ICICI, Kotak etc visit every year for campus placements. For UG students the average packages as per company and profiles offered range from RS 2 lakh to 3 lakh. The placement percentage of the college is around 70-80%. My plans after getting the degree are to do job and side by side continue further PG from any open university.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of B.com(Hons) is around 98,800 per year and it seems to be high but our college provides good quality education, highly qualified faculties, good placements etc. Our college was one of the top colleges under GGSIPU. I didn't avail of any scholarship that's why i don't know about the scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

Taking about the fests, Anugoonj is the annual fest that is held every year among the colleges of GGSIPU and the college also conducts ZEST which is the major fest of JIMS. Then talking about the infrastructure. The college has got facilities like there are 2 labs, 1 auditorium, canteen, a gym, library etc. The library is worth exploring place because it has well constructed and books related to the subjects, books by great authors etc are available. The classrooms are very good, with proper seats, projectors, air conditioners, wifi are fitted. There are many societies in our college like sports society, Rotaract club, NSS, dance, Entrepreneurship cell etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi unversity | b.com(hons)

I couldn't make it because of high cutoffs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
