Remarks
In my opinion, after IIT'S and NIT'S, HALDIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is best for engineering courses. Haldia institute of technology is one of the oldest and well reputed private college in West Bengal. It has a great campus with around 50 acre's area. Last year in 2020, HALDIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY becomes an autonomous college for upcoming batches. After completing my 12th and not getting a good rank in JEE I was a little bit disappointed but luckily I cracked WBJEE and through this, I got a chance to take admission in HIT, Haldia. When I first visited my college I was very amazed after seeing the infrastructure and campus of my college. The infrastructure is very wonderful and the campus environment is very friendly. Seniors are very kind, they all are always to helps us and gives us proper guidance. Currently, due to the covid19 situation, all classes are going through online. We all missed our campus life.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good. For 4 years degree courses, there were 8 semesters. so each year is consist of two semesters. And in each semester 3 to 4 class tests and 1 final exam will be held. The exam was based on different subjects. In the class test, you can score good marks by attending class regularly and after doing some proper study. All faculties and professor's of my college is highly educated and almost every of is graduates from IIT'S and NIT. And some of them are also from Jadavpur University. All teachers are very helpful to their students and also gives us proper guidance. And try their best to interact with every student of the class. Now classes are running through online mode, so some barrier and problems occur but they always trying to resolve our problem. If anyone is failing to buy books or unable to go out from homes due to lockdown, they also provide us soft copies of books and notes so that we can continue our study well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure of our college is moderate. During this time fees for each semester is around 44k to 45 k ( except management quota students ) and if you're interested in the hostel then you have to pay 12 k extra for each semester. And there are enrollment or examination fees which we have to pay before the examination is around 2k. So the total fees for a year will be nearly about 90 k (without hostel ) and 90k + 24k (with hostel fees for a year ). Which are the average fees of every private B .tech college. You can get a scholarship if you score above 9.6 cgpa of the respective semester. They also help students by providing education loans from reputed banks.
Campus Life
Our campus is very big and has lots of things are there to explore. Inside the campus, there is a library named "ARYABHATT CENTRAL LIBRARY" and also a special block for table tennis and board games. For sports lover's our college had many things like A basketball court, about 3 to 4 playground, where we can play football, cricket, etc. Lots of tournament will hold where anyone can take participate. There are lots of clubs, technical groups and social groups in our college like- IEEE HIT SB, IETE, Manab Racing, HITian inside, The HIT times, NEEDS, SAMARPAN, Team vidhyut, etc. There are no restrictions on students from any departments come and join. Every year many tech fests, parties and events conducted for students to have some funs.
