Know the college you want to join

I applied for different NITS first then I applied for different government colleges in Odisha. I joined CET, Bhubaneswar because of the stream and facilities over there. I was getting admission in the northern part of NITs but the streams I was getting were not of my choice. First, we have to apply for the colleges under the Odisha government then we will be selected based upon the marks criteria then there will be two counselling criteria and they will verify every document properly. First counselling will be done in the local area or area near you are living and the second counselling will be held on the college itself.

For the first one month, there will be an introduction period in every college then the regular classes are held regularly and semesters are conducted in the time. In SSCs there is a total of 60 seats and in other courses, there are 120 seats in total.

The internships are provided to the students by the college from the 3rd year onwards. One main project is necessary and 3 minor projects are necessary. A minimum of three internships is needed for the placement.

There is a good placement percentage in the college. The average percentage of a student to seat in the placement is decided by the company and it varies but it is mostly 7/7.5 minimum. There will a placement coordinator in each branch who will clarify everything related to placement. For most of the branches, there is a good percentage of students who get placed.

For SSCs the fees are comparatively high i.e., around 86,000/yr and for other courses, the fees are 42,000/year. The scholarships are provided by different helping institutions. Our college also provides a scholarship of 10,000/year on the basis of yearly merit.

There are different groups for different activities both technical and cultural and sports and you can join according to your interest. Two fests are organised on a year one is technical based and second one is cultural-based and different events are conducted in which different students of other colleges apart from our college can also participate and win. One sports fest is also organised every year where different teams come and play. There is a library and a card is provided to each student of the college if he/she wants to borrow a book from the library.

There are two girls hostel and two boys hostel on the campus and hostel seat allocation is done based on the jee mains ranks. The meal quality is nice. The registration process can be done in the bank of the college itself and the drafts are given by the hostel in charge itself and you can submit one copy to the bank and the second to the hostel in charge.
