I had applied to PEC, Chandigarh, and GJU Hissar, but could not qualify for the courses in computer science, I had looked for. I qualified for B.Tech in Computer Science and engineering from U.I.E.T Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak which was co-incidentally in my hometown. The admission criterion was based on the JEE-Main Score. The students who would secure a rank less than 80,000 in JEE mains would comfortably get admission in Computer Science Course. The admission process was smooth. The teachers were very supportive on Councelling Day, All the documents had to be verified and the first-semester fee of around Rs.38000 had to be paid on the spot.

U.I.E.T Maharshi Dayanand University is a well-known technical institution in the state. Since MDU is known for being India's Cleanest University, Campus life was a huge pro. for me. The institute provides professional knowledge in Computer Science as well as the mental level of students is very high. The faculty: student ratio is very lucrative, A professor presides over a class of almost 30 students, when there are almost 100 students enrolled in the entire branch for a year! The students have the massive computer science building to themselves. The faculty is well-Qualified and learned, Professors possess Doctoral degrees from prestigious institutions and boast international journals. The exams are conducted timely and it is easy to pass them with a comfortable score if one has attended the classes attentively.

The companies start to visit the campus to place students in 7th and 8th semesters. Almost all the sincere students get a decent fresher job. Students decide from the multiple MNC's that visit the institute every year. Infosys, Daffodil, and Naggaro are some which constantly conduct placement drives. Many students crack government exams thanks to the world-class library and many also crack off-campus offers. In a nutshell, the institute's placement cell in the leadership of Training and Placement Officer Mr.Arun Hooda who himself is an alumnus of the institute has something to offer to every candidate.I plan to either go for a government job or crack a good placement offer , But currently being a sophomore i am not focusing so much on my plans after i get a degree.

Being an institution under the states' oldest and most prestigious University, UIET's fee has remained constant for years. The cost to study including hostels and mess is pretty affordable. Still,the university provides many scholarships to the deserving like-Merit-cum-means scholarship, Post-matric scholarship, etc. The state government also provides plenty of scholarships and the students belonging to Underprivileged households and castes can study for almost free or with a negligible fee in the university. The students with less family income were also giiven a smartphone worth Rs.10,000 by the university this year.

The campus life at Maharshi Dayanand University is undoubtedly one of the best in the country, Getting an opportunity to study in India's cleanest university is really worth it! The university infrastructure and greenery remind of some university in Europe! Despite the campus is located in the heart of the City, it is really quiet. Enjoying sounds of birds chirping and admiring the huge variety of roses at the rose garden or burning some calories at the state-level sports complex, You name it .The university has it all.It boasts a world-class AC-Centralised Vivekananda library with the latest books and journals which is open 24*7. The newly constructed world-class cricket stadium promises aspiring cricketers , a multi-purpose Centralized-AC Mangalsen auditorium boasts four indoor badminton courts, Recently built synthetic athletic track is a huge bonus for athletes and an under-construction swimming pool promises some relief in hot-sweaty summers of Haryana.
