Remarks

I'm a first-year student at Hansraj College, University of Delhi. I pursue B.Sc (H) in Mathematics from this college. If we talking about the admission procedure of the Delhi university then it's not very much easy to take admission to Delhi University. Delhi University takes admission by the two well-defined criteria, the first one is entrance based and another one is merit base. Delhi University consists of more than 60 colleges and provides a variety of courses. If you want to take admission in B.Sc(H) Mathematics then you take admission through merit-based which based on your class 12 result. So, you have to score good marks in your class 12th boards to take admission to a good college. Merit-based on your top 4 best subject marks. For detailed information about merit criteria, you may check the offical site of du - du.ac.in. College also provides some relaxation in the merit list to the reserved category and also to the female candidate.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

If you have an interest in Mathematics then you may opt for this course otherwise this course is like a burden on you and I suggest that before taking admission in this course please go through the syllabus and curriculum of this course. You have no such problem regarding faculty members of this department. All the faculty members are well qualified and well educated. All are friendly in nature and always ready to help you. They give their full potential to explaining any concepts as much as they can. In my class there are 68 students and faculty: student ratio is about 17:1. This whole course is divided into 6 semesters and after every 6 months each semester exam held means 2 semesters per annum. You have to qualify each and every semester exams and semester exams are very easy to pass. Examination paper totally based on the well-defined syllabus issued by the university and if you stick to the syllabus you easily pass each semester exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every college of Delhi University has minimum fees structure. Students who belong to poor family financial conditions then no need to worry about the fees of the college of Delhi university, they are easily affordable. Talking about my course fees then it's 24115 INR per annum and the fees vary from 15000 to 28000 INR for different courses. College provides some scholarship in the form of fees relaxation to those students whose financial conditions are not too good. Based on the annual income of the family, the college provides scholarship in form of fee relaxation like 50% to 100% in college fees. Other than college scholarship, the central government also provides scholarship like the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and Inspire Scholarship in NSP students got 10000 per annum and in inspire scholarship students got 60000 per annum if they meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship.

Campus Life

I think college life is the best moment in everyone's life. You may also agree with my statement when you took admission to the college. College is not only about studying, but it's also about exploring new things, do whatever you want, you make decisions independently, but you also make new friends and knows about the real world peoples. Every college of Delhi university organise the annual fest and come up with their famous alumni and celebrities. It's all not about only one day, the fest goes for a month. You surely going to love the annual fest of Delhi University. College provides library facility which full of lots of knowledge books which definitely gives value addition in your life. Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
