Opportunities at CET-B

As COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY BHUBANESWAR Popularly known as CET-B is the No. 1 GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING college of ODISHA so, the selection to these is on the basis of percentile and rank secured in the JEE Main examinations. Counselling is done by OJEE (ODISHA-JEE). Counselling starts in parallel to JOSAA counselling. we have a separate merit list provided by OJEE on the basis of which the admission is done to different courses in this college. Once the OJEE provides the merit list, then we were told to visit the college campus for final admission with the OJEE admission letter downloaded from the OJEE portal. Later on, after completing all other admission formalities we were given a provisional admission letter for admission confirmation by the colllege. the general intake for CSE in this college is 5k rank in JEE scorecard or even less than that. I would say yes this is the best engineering college in Odisha having all the modern equipment and great to great professors.

I choose this course because nowadays we are seeing rapid growth in digital industries. So CSE was a good option to go with moreover the faculty: student ratio here is 1:30 so it looks perfect. The whole faculty team here is brilliant. They make us understand the course so perfectly that we can be best at once in that course. We have associate and assistant profs. holding PhD degree with brilliant minds. we have well-equipped large laboratories for lab classes. We have PhD students here doing experiments in all fields of engineering, technology and sciences. Here, one semester contains one mid-sem exam which is of 20 marks and a semester exam of 70 marks, rest we have marks for the quiz, assignment, class tests, etc and the lab paper is of 100 marks which contain mark for the record, viva, etc. Overall it's the best college to persue your career.

Many companies like CISCO, GS-BBSR, etc provides Internship to students and actually it is upto students is which ground they want to persue according that they take up their skills and goes for internships, but overall internship experience in college is excellent.

After PRE-FINAL YEAR different companies come for providing job opportunities to the cetians. The placement percentage is 100% with an average package of 7 lakh PA. The highest package of [2020] was 47 lakhs PA. My plans after BTech is to pursue higher education along with good placement.

As it is a full functioning state government engineering college of Odisha so the fee structure is very genuine. We have two types of courses, 1. REGULAR courses & 2. SSC courses. SSC courses are approx twice the fees of regular courses. The fees for the REGULAR course iS 37,400 per year and for SSC it is 81,200 per year so, it is very less as compared to other engineering colleges in India. About scholarships, CET has its own scholarship programme known as [CET-SCHOLARSHIP] for all the students pursuing their career here. It is given on the basis of JEE MAIN or CGPA in the semester for 1st and 2nd year only. Besides CET scholarship, they also provide students with all other scholarships for the benefit of students studying here. CET-B provides INTERNSHIPS and JOB opportunity to students as it is located in the capital of the state so a lot of company visit here for campus recruitment and had the highest package for this years [2020] was 47 lakhs per annum by MICROSOFT.

We have many functions like XTASY, PERCEPTION and a lot more. We have many clubs here like, ZAIRZA, AMUZA, ASME, ENERGY club, SPECTRUM, CIVICON, etc. which help us to improve our skills with our respective seniors. CET-B has a NO-RAGGING campus and our seniors are very cooperative. They are always ready for any help if you want. we have a large football and cricket stadium, besides these, we have a basketball and volleyball ground also. we do a lot of fun here by participating in different Indoor and Outdoor games. Our classrooms are well equipped with digital appliances which make them ALL ROUND DIGITAL CLASSROOMS. We have a BIG LIBRARY from where we can take books to study or we can study there also. The Librarian is very cooperative. If you are a student of CET-B and you have a Library card then you can take any book for studying and later you have to return the book to the Library. Overall the campus life is magnificent here.
