Remarks

I'm a student of Hansraj College of Delhi University and I choose B.Sc(H) Mathematics as my Undergraduate course. I took admission in the college through merit-based which based on the class 12 result. Delhi university takes admission through merit-based as well as entrance based. Delhi University is not a single university, it consists of more than 60 colleges that provide varieties of courses to the students. University takes admission through entrance based in course like BBA, BCA etc and admission through merit-based in a course like BA, BSc, BCom etc. Every year university releases its merit list of different college for taking admission which totally based on your class 12 results. So, if you want to take admission to Delhi university then you have to score good marks in your class 12. If you have more than 94% then definitely have a chance to get admission to the north campus colleges of DU.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I want to do my graduation in mathematics so, I decided to choose BSc (H) Mathematics instead of the BSc program. I highly recommend that if you have a great interest in mathematics then you may go to this course otherwise this course become a headache for you. Before taking admission in this course make sure to check atleast once the whole syllabus of the course which you can easily find out on the official site of Delhi University that is du.ac.in. You don't need to worry about faculty members of Hansraj College, they are well just awesome. They are well qualified and well educated. They are always ready to help you and they are very friendly. The faculty: student ratio is about 1:14. This course is all-around 3 years, 2 semesters per annum. After every 6 months, a semester exam has been conducted by the university and you have to qualify for each and every semester exams. They are very easy to pass, nothing much hard in the examination. Paper strictly based on the given syllabus.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every college of Delhi University has minimum fees criteria so that that student also take admission whose family conditions is not too good. Fees vary from different courses to different colleges. In Hansraj college, fees vary from 18000 to 28000 per annum for different courses. Fees of my course, BSc (H) mathematics is 24115 per annum. If you don't afford this, don't lose your hope. College provides scholarship to 100 students from overall courses in the form of fees relaxation like relaxation in fees from 50% to 100% on the basis of the student's family income. Other than college, some other scholarship of the government of India also going to support you financial like inspire scholarship in which you get 60000 per annum and the national scholarship portal (NSP) in which you get 10000 per annum if you are eligible for the scholarship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
