GBPUAT, M.F.Sc. (Fish Processing Technology)

Remarks

1. I had applied for only GBPUAT because I was satisfied with their master's programs, also it is convenient from my home. 2. I did not avail any quota for admission. 3. Admission criteria for my program was A. Bachelor's in fisheries science B. Minimum marks- 60% in the entrance C. Minimum age - above 20 4. First I opted for the entrance exam, then on the basis of which merit is prepared. After that, a 2- day process of counseling was made by the University according to our merit/rank. On the first day, we had to submit our all documents, and the other day we had selected our choice of courses rank by rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

1. I chose this course because of my keen interest in the fish processing sector as the fish/food process is the future of our world. 2. There are 4 total seats of students at my department/course and with that, we have 3 faculty i.e., 1 HOD and 2 professors. We have a huge shortage of faculty. 3. All the faculty members are done their Ph.D. in the same field by deemed university of fisheries CIFE. Their teaching method is partially good, as they describe and explain to us the syllabus with smart classes as well as give us notes, plus they take presentations from us as a regular check. 4. The exam pattern is totally different from others. It is divided into 3. a) 2 internals or hourlies c) lab finals d) externals or final exams Hourlies are very hard to crack because it is of MM. 20 which is prepared with fill-ups, true-false, MCQs, matchups, and 2-3 short questions each one comprising of 0.25 marking.

Fees and Financial Aid

It is a government University so the fee structure is less from others like our degree program is of 2 years which includes 4 semester and our fees goes semesterly, for one semester they offered 49,000-50,000/- including college as well as hostel fee. I got no financial assistance from my college

Campus Life

5

1. There isn't any proper fest, a small get together of students of various colleges happen where hosting college's students arrange stalls(eatables and shoppable) for them and other students participate there, known as"fairs". These fairs are conducted in between January to April. 2. We have our university library there, which is one of the biggest libraries in India. 3. Classrooms are fully smart equipped with projectors, smart boards, pointers, etc 4. A loads of sports, as well as extracurricular activities, run over there: Intra- hostels, inter-hostels, intra-colleges, inter-colleges as well as we also do participate in inter University competitions. yearly we celebrate our athletic meet where we also welcome other universities. Activities are: kho-kho, weight lifting, bodybuilding, 1 min speech, essay, editorial activities, dance, singing, drama, poem, short put, long put, relay, races, etc 5. Spic-macay, CHETNA, and VIVEKANANDA SWADHYAY MANDAL, literary club, placement cell, etc

Hostel Facilities

4.5

1. For master's students, one room is shared by 2 mates. The room is provided with a bed, study table, chair, and almirah. Our hostel is also equipped with wifi facility. 2. We have our 4 meals there,i.e., Breakfast: aloo parantha/ stuffed prantha+ butter+ milk/tea. ( Others who don't eat parantha, have options for bread, jam, sauce, roti, boiled eggs, omelet, bhurji, etc.) Lunch: rice+ pulses+ seasonal vegetable+ roti+ salad+ pickle+ papad. Snacks: any light snacks like poha, bread, and potato toast with tea/milk Dinner: rice+ lentils+ roti+ seasonal vegetables+ sweet dish+ salad+ papad+ pickle. With this huge amount of items, not even a single item is repeated during the week. 3. After seat allotment from the college we go for the registration, only after registration we shall go for hostel registration/enrollment by simply filling hostel criteria fulfillment forms and NOCs from parents and contacting through as respective wardens. Affordability is very cheap and easy to access.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I have seen students who have studied from here have achieved many things in life some of them became professors here. Some are doing work abroad. According to me something there should be a change like having more practicals if you have taken subjects like IT, cs,bca or any other practical subjects book knowledge is also compulsory but by doing practicals we can learn more easily. Exams are normal for 1st year but as you are going higher difficulties will come.
