Remarks
KC college was the only college I applied because I had the quota of sports and there are a few percentages of seats reserved for the sports quote. The total number of sportspersons that got admission through sports were 3(out of 65). Admission for BSc IT required satisfactory marks in Math. Math marks matter the most if you want to get into IT. So you can have a low average that won't matter unless your math marks are better. The admission process was done offline in the college. The admission process went on for 2 months. Due to the cut-offs and withdrawal of few admissions, the days went longer. In all the admission was smooth with good details.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course to try something new since I was a science student in junior college. The faculty here is good. Few teachers are really excellent and tbh really friendly. Everything was smooth in college except for the first year since that's where we are now. Teachers are well qualified and helpful. Some teachers are in process of their PhD too. For a sports person, the teachers are really understanding and helpful. They helped me out since I was a little weaker in academics. Exams start after 3 months in every sem. First, we have the units and then after a gap of few days, we have put practical examination and followed by the terms. The difficulty is moderate.
Internships Opportunities
Infosys and TCS hire students for various roles it doesn't have to always be related to any sort of coding skills. Many skills are seen in the IT fields. Communications and sales are also very important skill here on which company's hire students. Your final project is the key to getting a really good placement. The college funds your project if they find the idea really innovative and interesting.
Placement Experience
Once you reach your 5th semester, many job opportunities come your way. Many sessions are consulted for example TCS, Wipro and Infosys. The percentage of students placements is around 20%. After all, it all depends on our abilities. The ones that do well in their interviews are picked for the job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is quite affordable for a board this good. Since the board is changing from Mumbai University to the HSNC board, there is a hike in the fees. There has been an increase of around 30% in the fees. The fees that I had paid during my degree from 2019-21 was 25000 per year. Now there is a hike in the fees up to 35000-37000. There are quite a few scholarships for students. Me being a Sportsperson, I was issued a scholarship of 11k due to my low financial status for one year. (I have represented Maharashtra and Mumbai University in Athletics at the National Level).
Campus Life
There are 2 to 3 major fests of our college the Fiestron and Kiran being the most popular. Kiran is by far the most successful and fun fest by K. C. College. Kiran is mostly conducted in the month of October. The library is the best place for the students. The Library in the IT branch is quite small, to be honest. Everything is available in the library. Classrooms completely air conditioned and perfect for us. Projectors are available in all the classrooms. The extra curriculum at the Campus of IT is really 0 but at the main KC campus, there are few indoor sports like chess, table tennis, Carrom. No outdoor campus sports since the campus is literally equal to 0. The canteen is good though.
