Remarks
I applied for Shyam lal, Aurobindo, pgdav, Zakir Husain but opted for Shyam lal because of the ambiance, metro connectivity, easy and quick admission procedure. I am a general category student, therefore, did not take admission through any quota. Best of 4 subjects are considered for percentage calculation in which English is compulsory to include and student should have maths as an optional subject for taking any honors subject. On the first day, students are divided into different sections and are introduced to the seniors, faculty, and principal of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course is suitable for students opting for commerce after the 10th as most of the syllabus is the continuation of what you have done earlier. There are different teachers for different subjects specialized in their particular fields but on the downside, there are teaching 3-4classes with 50 students each, therefore, there is no 1 to 1 guidance. Most of the teachers are masters of their field with a friendly teaching style which makes the concepts easier to understand. Internals are conducted during the semester and external exams are conducted after the semester but within the college. The difficulty level of the examinations is easy to moderate.
Internships Opportunities
Internships offered by companies are generally for a period of 2-3 months, roles of these internships match your profile as to what you are studying in a college or you can opt for something that you are interested in. Projects given by teachers go well with the curricular and do put a lot of burden on the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Generally, the fees charged are the same throughout the period of the course but it can be hiked by some minimal percentage on the call of the college. The fees charged in all the colleges of Delhi University are very economical as compared to their private counterparts.
Campus Life
The campus is of decent size kept clean and presentable throughout the year. There are different sports offered by the college mainly Hockey, Cricket, volleyball. The college has started organizing fest for students and various other events are done from time to time. The library is extremely well maintained with all the required books but as students are large in number so the stock may run out once the semester progresses classes are well ventilated and adequately lit with repair and maintenance done from time to time. There are different societies run by the students which are further managed by the teachers.
