KGP is best Institute for Education and Enjoying Life .

I applied for various colleges like IIT BOMBAY, IIT DELHI, IIT KHARAGPUR, etc through JOSAA and after 5 rounds I preferred Btech +Mtech branch in electrical engineering in IIT KHARAGPUR and took the admission. For taking admission to IIT, you have to first clear jee mains which are conducted by NTA, and then JEE Advanced which is conducted by all IIT's. You have to clear the jee main cut-off to sit for Jee advanced. And then score good rank in Advanced to get a respectable IIT. For getting the CS branch of a good IIT, you have to achieve a rank of under 400 if you are of the general category. The minimum attempts you get to give jee advanced is 2. The admission process of IIT is a bit lengthy. At least 7 rounds of counseling are conducted and then after 10-15 days, you will get a confirmation from the college that you have been admitted to the college. At every round, you have to report to the respective institute for counseling.

I chose this course because I find this course very interesting and related to daily life activities. The faculty-student ratio of IIT KGP is very well relative to other IIT's which is 1:19. The students are able to interact with faculties very easily. The faculties of this institute have a high qualification as most of them are IITians, well-renowned Scientists, Ph.D. ones, etc. Allocations of the faculty members are well planned in this institute and the Teaching process of them is a bit quite friendly. They treat students like their friends and classes are held in a very fun manner. Students tell that faculties are very good in terms of explaining the topics and clearing our doubts. The exams are held continuously like mid-term and end-term examinations. Assignments are held every week for testing students' skills. The level of exams is quite tougher which we are supposed to give. I myself found it harder to score full marks in exams.

Many internships with high stipend are offered by the IIT KGP administration for the sake of students. If you make your CV attractive, they will come to you for an internship. This completely depends on the department in which you are to inform you about the internship of companies. The institute also offers in-house internships. Like, some students of the electrical department recently have started to make a project on an autonomous vacuum cleaners. This also develops the machine-learning skills of students. An internship from Microsoft was also provided to 30 students with a high stipend in the year 2020.

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. They are offered by companies to be in internships and complete their degree. Big companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, etc visit the campus and offers a good amount of package for students who give best interviews and have good cgpa. The highest package that was offered to a student of computer science was more than a 1 crore package. The average package depends on the respective branch which is most of CS, then electrical, mathematics, etc. Mostly ll the students get above 15 lakh package in all core branches. Almost 90% of students get placed from in-campus placements, other those apply for companies that do not come to the institute. I will go for campus placements after completing my degree. I want to work in India so I can give something to my country.

The fee structure of the institute is very complicated. For a BTech student of the first year, you have to pay approximately 250000 rupees including hostel fees, mess charges, gymkhana, library, etc. Various scholarships have been provided by the institute and the government to the students to cope up with their studies. Financial assistance to the lower castes like SC/ST and OBC is provided. Their tuition fees are neglected. Many programs are created to make their development in society. Currently, i am a first-year student so I didn't got job.

Life at IIT KGP is what every person wants to experience. The natural beauty spread across more than 2000 acres of land is what every student lives. There are numerous fests conducted of which most wonderful is the SPRING FEST. It is mainly conducted in Feb-march time. KGP has one of the biggest libraries of India. You can find every book in it. The peace and calm one student faces in the library is unimaginable. Mostly classes are held in the NALANDA complex which is the most beautiful area of the institute. Almost 200 students can sit in a classroom with great facilities. The most beautiful of the institute is the department of sports. I really love the sports facilities and competitions. Every sport has its own richness. A vast number of clubs like entrepreneur cell, business club, tech club, cooking club, etc are organized by the students of IIT kgp which is fun after experiencing it.
