Remarks
The admission is based upon the cutoffs released by DU. If the student meets the cutoff , then he/ she is eligible to get admission into the college. Talking about my course i.e Bcom(h) , the last cut off to get admission was 90.5 in 2019. There is not much complications to get admission. If student has minimum 90.5 % in aggregate of best of four subjects in class 12 , then after following documentation process and payment of fees you can get admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
As Bcom (h) is one of the top courses in DU and the cutoff for this course remains high. In our college too, Bcom(h) is a better course amongst other courses. The faculty of the commerce department is well qualified, experienced, and very supportive. They help each & every student who is sincere in all aspects. There are 3 sections and in each section, there are 50-55 students. The exams are held after every 6 months (semester system) and the level of the questions asked is good. The question paper prepared is neither much difficult nor easy. It depends on the student how much he is prepared.
Internships Opportunities
This year various companies offer internship opportunities. The roles they offer for internships are sales and marketing, content writer, HR, etc. Some of the internships are paid internships in which you get a good stipend and certificate and some are for which you get the only a certificate of appreciation and stipend depends upon the performance you show.
Placement Experience
For placement, there is a placement cell in the college. The placement cell provides job opportunities for 3rd-year students and internship opportunities for 2nd-year students. Every year the cell organizes a placement fest in the college in which various companies visit the college. I don't know about the names of the companies that visit but the average package offered by them is 2-3 lakhs p.a and the highest package this year offered is 8 lakhs p.a.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very affordable. Not of our college only, the fee structure of every DU college is affordable as DU is a government University managed by the central government. There is not much fee increment after every year. The fees increase about 500-1000 per year depending upon the college. Talking about scholarship/ financial assistance, I don't know about that. Various companies visit colleges for campus placement for 3rd & 2nd-year students. 3rd-year students get job opportunities and 2nd-year students get internship opportunities.
Campus Life
The name of the annual fest of the college is Kalakriti and it is held every year in March in which a Punjabi singer comes for the concert and EDM night is also there in this fest. The fests of other departments are also held in Feb and March. There is a library in the college through which you can issue the books but it needs to be improved as some books are old editioned books. There are various sports in the college like hockey, cricket, volleyball, basketball, Kabaddi, etc., and the hockey ground is well maintained and the hockey team of our college is no. 1 in DU. There are many cells and societies in the college.
