No, I have chosen only Herambha Chandra College because I wanted to pursue my higher studies in Economics in a good college and HCC provides the best Bsc Economics course and has top class faculties in the Economics department. To be eligible for admission in BSc Economics students require a minimum of 60% in WBCSE or CBSE and have to score more than 75 marks in Economics and must have it as their main subject. After the declaration of the CBSE, ICSE, and WBCSE boards results, the college releases its admission form in the admission portal, and students who are interested to take admission should fill the admission form and submit a copy of their ID Proof( Aadhar Card), 10th and 12th mark sheet & Birth Certificate and wait for the merit list. The college releases the merit list after one week of closing the admission form. If your name is enlisted in the merit list then you are selected and can pay the admission fees within the date provided by the college in both online or offline.

I have chosen this course because Economics honors are extremely helpful in building the perfect base for future studies. This course includes different aspects of the study of the economy, politics, and statistical analysis, which is a topic of growing importance today. All the faculties in our college are well qualified and there is no doubt in their teaching skills, knowledge and ability. Although their qualifications don't matter. The thing that matters the most is their teaching skills and ability to share knowledge. They treat each and every student as their friend and are always supportive and helpful. Exams are taken as per the schedule set by the university. According to my, Economics is an easy subject and till now I have scored more than 90% in each and every exam. But Applied Mathematics is a bit tough subject because it consists of advanced statistics and has scored well in it too.

Students do quite hard work in order to get an internship. They have to acquire a particular skill and build some project work with which they can get an internship in a good company. And according to the skills Companies recruit interns and also pay a good stipend.

The college helps each student in exploring placement opportunities by inviting various companies during the campus placement. Students who are in the final year of the program or graduated are eligible for campus placements. Our top recruiters are Yes Bank , Wipro, Lic , Indigo Hdfc Bank ,Bandhan Bank , Abp News. The highest package offered is 8 lakhs per year and the lowest package offered is 3.7 lakhs per year. As per the reports provided by the college around 2400 students have participated in placements from the year 2012-2018 and more than 2000 students got selected by the recruiting Organisations .

As most of the college charges tens of thousands of rupees every year for their honors courses but the fees of our college are only 4k per year for each and every course. which is quite less as compared to other honors colleges in Kolkata. So overall I can say that the cost to study in our college is one of the cheapest than other colleges in Kolkata offering the same degree. The Calcutta University has launched several scholarship schemes like the Vivekananda Scholarship program and Bishwa Bangla Chatra Seva scholarships to provide financial assistance to the students. Students can apply for these scholarships in the official website of the university and avail themselves them for free.

There are several fests organized by our college in special events like the Freshers Party in January, Cultural Programmes on the auspicious occasion of 'Rabindra Jayanti', Saraswati Puja during the month of January or February, and the festival of color 'Holi' in the month of March. The college has two separate libraries one is the central library and the other is the seminar library. The central library is equipped with a diversified collection of subjects with various updated ramifications to meet the quest for knowledge of their uses. On the other hand, the seminar library is designed to meet the demands of the honors students of Bcom , Bsc and Ba. Students from our college regularly make some remarkable achievements or win awards and prizes in various social ,cultural and sports based activities at regional , state , national and international levels. The teaching and non-teaching staff of the college genuinely promote such achievements .

The hostel rooms of our college are very clean and well maintained along with all the basic requirements available. There are medical shops, stationary and canteen available in the hostel complex. Most of the students live in a dorm rooms as they are quite cheap and affordable. The meal is served in the hostel canteen and is quite fresh and tasty. They provide typical north Indian dishes and sometimes also provide south Indian foods like dosa, idli, sambar and you can eat as much as you want as there is no limitation and the food provided is also very healthy. If you chose to live in hostel, you have to visit the college hostel manager and fill the registration form, and chose the type of room you want. And after the registration is complete you get a call from the hostel manager and the date is provided on which day your room will be ready and you can come with your luggage.
