A glimpse of Techno Main Salt Lake by Aniket Chakraborty.

After successfully completing Wbjee the result came out, then the online counseling process began and we were allowed to choose seats of different branches from different colleges of our choice. At first, I got Heritage Institute Of Technology but wanted to carry on with my counseling, then in the 2nd round of counseling, I got Techno Main Salt Lake. I am a general category student. The minimum age should be 18+ and should have got a good rank in Wbjee and with 75% + in class 10 and 12 in science and maths respectively. Then with the seating allotment, we were asked to visit the college for further procedures.

I was always fascinated by Electronics and Instruments too so I choose to get enrolled in EIE. The faculty: student ratio is nearly like 1:10 The teachers are really good and highly skilled. They teach from the very basic to the absolute core of the subjects. They are highly trained professionals. The term exams happen every 6 months but have midterm included in it and also with many Class assessments that happen every month on an average. The papers are usually moderate to tough and one who studies well and understands the concept well can easily pass.

Many different companies come in to provide Internship opportunities to the students. Companies like Bsnl,cesc, come in and provide stipends of 15-20k per month for a period of 3 months. Then startups like kaar technologies and Unschool come too for sales and marketing with an opportunity to provide PPO to the most deserving ones. Along with the final year project, students also need to do a few different types of projects under Signals and Systems. The internships and projects make one capable and industry-ready before finally getting placed.

The Placements are pretty good here in TMSL with 80-80% of the batch getting placed. The students are eligible for placements from the 6th Semester only with a lot of PPO coming in. Many different companies visit the campus Core companies like Johnson and Johnson ,Robert Bosch and Honeywel visits. Then IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, CTS, Deloitte etc visit and they take around 60-65% of the batch. The highest package of 12LPa was offered by Byjus and Robert Bosch for BDS and Junior Engineer position respectively. And the average package is 4 LPA. I at first want a good placement and after completing my degree want to work for 2-3 years and finally do an MBA from a very good college.

The Fees for studying Btech in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is 4.2 LAKHS approximately which will be divided into 8 different semesters. The college authorities are very friendly and supportive and they help a lot. For students with less than 2Lpa family income, the cost of studying is only 80,000 for 4 years under a Tuition Fee Wavier Scheme. The placements are pretty good with a lot of companies visiting the campus ranging from Sales, IT, and Core with an avg of 4LPA and the highest being 12LPA.

The Annual Tech Fest of TMSL is Edge. It is conducted in the month of May-June. It's one of the largest fests in Eastern India. The Cultural Fest is known as Anakoronos. The Library is well equipped with many books with a full AC atmosphere. The classrooms are large and spacy with many of them having Ac's installed too. The annual sporting event happens with many different types of sports involved in it. The campus has 2 large fields forever cricket and football respectively. There is a Literary club called Eclectica that is being run by Students along with Samarth which is the Civil Service Club of Tmsl.
