West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. Score was around 5000 (don't remember exact score). Reason for selection was then the college was part of Techno India group and the placement records were good
Course Curriculum Overview
Classes are held for each subject with great care for each subject specialisation. Teaching faculty are very cooperative and helpful. Practical classes are taken with aim to clarify all doubts of students. On 4th year final semester an industry training is held which helps students being ready to face the respective industry as per their major.
Internships Opportunities
Not sure now but during our time the college did hot have provision for internship for students and hence no question of any stipend.
Placement Experience
During the time of 2008-2009 the jobs in IT was in a mild threat. However our placement officer managed to bring in many companies like TCS, Infosys, Satyam etc and over 60-70% of the passout got loaded directly from clever campus interview direct recruit programme.
College Events
During our college days we had seen multiple annual cultural programmes as well as technical programmes. Cultural programmes included annual freshers party, and annual college fests. College also held an annual technical fest for students to brainstorm and come up with something innovative.
Fees and Financial Aid
Many students during our time took education loans from recognised banks who have collaboration with our college. Not really aware of any scholarship programme that was available.
Campus Life
Campus life was real fun. Other than regular classes there were provision for carrom, table tennis, music, gym, and other sports like cricket, football. At our time there was a students union SFI which was the then student political involvement. Gender wise it was nearly a 3:2 ratio and participation in all events was equal.
Exam Structure
The examination pattern was same as followed by then west Bengal university of technology. Eight semesters with a mid term and a final for year progression. Other than these we had internal exams and practical assignments score from which summed up during year progression exams.
Admission
Shortlisting was done based on Joint entrance exam score. After joint entrance for engineering score. The then west Bengal university of technology (now Maulana Abul kalam Azad University) arranged for course/stream categorisation based on choice and availability.
Faculty
Each and every faculty members are porky qualified and has good teaching experience. Faculties taking care of practical labs share good experience and teach to tackle real life projects. The head of departments of all respective departments and highly qualified and proficiently manages these departments.
