Remarks
Applied to focus majorly for CSE Dept in NIT Hamirpur, NIT Warangal, NIT Delhi. Then visited my state NIT Patna for the slots and seats in these choices. And then finally opted CSE Dept at NIT Hamirpur. Then visited NIT Hamirpur and the whole document verification took the whole day but then everything went smooth.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the CSE dept since I had it in my mind to have computer science engineering only from the beginning. And I was getting it here on top lists. So I opted for this course. There is good faculty: student ratio for the available course with nice teaching methodologies. The term exams are pretty easy and midterms are more important too.
Placement Experience
Companies started to come from the starting of the third year i.e the 7th sem. The placements are nice. You need to have 7 cgpa at least if you want to sit in every company placement interview. The TPRs are quite active there.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for the whole course for 4 years were around 5 lacs in 2014. Also, the hostel fee was around 18k per semester. And also I had an education loan for the same course. The campus placements are nice too. Just maintain the 7 cgpa and you can sit in most of the placement interviews.
Campus Life
The Annual Cultural Fest,i.e Hill'ffair, is huge there. Students from different nearby colleges come to perform. Famous Bands like the local train,raeth visit while the cultural fest. The annual tech fest,i.e Nimbus, is really cool. Every department and its clubs portray its works and artifacts. Also library most coursebooks also other novels and journals available too All major sports you can play there and you can visit the ground anytime.
Hostel Facilities
The facilities provided in the room are nice. There are singlets and triplets rooms available in different hostels. Depending upon the allotment and the year you are in, you have different hostels. The meals are amazing especially rajma.
