Fantastic College Life

The College I applied to is VIPS and the reason for not attending the VIPS is that it is far away from my house. I don't have any quota. The admission for BCom Hons is that there is an entrance based exam after that candidates get the ranks and then they allotted the college. The students have to complete (10+2) from recognised CBSE. The minimum aggregate mark is only 50% and the minimum age is only 21. In the admission process, students have to fill the college choices after getting the ranks. There are many rounds like first, second and many more. When the students get the college in the first round and if they freeze college in the first round then they only get that college. They do not go to the next round. The university conducts sliding and spot counselling to fill the vacant seats.

I chose the BCom Hons course because I was more interested in the commerce field. It has both theoretical and practical Concepts. It helps the students to gain knowledge. I took JIMS Kalkaji because of the faculty because many of them are PHD holders from the recognised college. The way of teaching is very easy and knowledgeable. The ratio of the faculty and students are 1:15. The exam was held twice in one semester that is one is internal and the second is external. The internal exam is held in college and it is quite easy to pass and the 2nd is external which is held on other campuses and it is difficult to pass.

The internship offered by startups but companies like Collegedunia, Skillsarena, Whitehatjr also provides internship opportunities. The average stipend is around Rs 20000 based on incentives or not. The project is given on a practical basis and help them to gain knowledge and experience new things. It is compulsory to do an internship last year for 2 months.

The JIMS has its own Placement cell which comprises teachers and students working together to get the best opportunities. The placement society is active throughout the internship opportunities. The internship opportunities are open for all the years whether it is the first year or final year. The campus placement starts in September and only for the final year. Companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Google, Godrej and many more provide them to the students. For the UG graduates, the average CTC offers ranges from Rs 2 lacs to Rs 3 lacs. The placement of the college is 95-100%.

The maximum fee is 100000. The college provides scholarships like financial assistance which helps them to get a job and then get placed in a reputed organisation. The students are placed in a whitehatjr, RBS, Skillsarena, Collegedunia. The stipend they get is Rs 25000.

Now, talking about the infrastructure, there are many things like one library, one auditorium, one canteen, two computer labs, gym, GD/Pi rooms and sports rooms and all of them are well maintained and air-conditioned. The library has a wide range of books which is very helpful and knowledgeable and it is also well maintained and air conditioner and have one projector and smartboard. Now, talking about the fest, the college conducts ZEST which is a major part of JIMS and also conducts fest related to marketing and tech. JIMS has many sports teams and is managed by the sports society of the college. There are many other societies related to ther fields like marketing, arts, debating and retract which conducts various social activities.
