Kharagpur College-Detailed Review

I have applied in Kharagpur college (my current college), Medinipur College, Garhbeta college- so I didn't have any quota, and I am also from a general cast that's why I didn't get shortlisted for Medinipur College despite having enough marks, and secondly, Garhbeta college is very far from my house that's why I didn't attend it. I am general by caste that's why I didn't have a quota. As far as admission criteria are concerned It was based on 12 the grade and not by age, so I can tell you, I shortlisted by my 12 the grade marks Actually, we didn't have a counseling day. We just applied and waiting for the list, then when I made the list, they asked me to visit the college. Then I finished my admission process. They supplied us with details of our classes, identify card collection, and gave us a Chalan, gave us a joining date in the college, that's all.

Despite I had science in 12th grade, I chose because especially in West Bengal there are many opportunities available if you study English Hons. And also English is my favorite subject too. That's why I chose this course. Kharagpur college is one of the famous Colleges in West Bengal and one of the heritage buildings build in post-independence. It has close to 100 students per course. And there are 26 courses available in our college. Kharagpur college has a huge modernized building and each class has a blackboard, bench, and fans, and all other stuff. It has close to 100 teaching and non-teaching staff. Our class has a very professional, strict environment. Must mention that there is two other buildings are in making. There is also a 24/7 helpline. Our teachers are helpful and they try their best to teach us. They are very professional in class. Sometimes they use projectors in our class. Every six months exams held and the questions are set by V.U. It is very difficult to pass.

The fees structure is very simple we have to pay approx 4000-6000 (including every fee taken from us). There are scholarships and financial assistance given by the West Bengal govt. There are many scholarships available. The cost of the study is close to 1500 per month (including everything). No there is no fee hike policy exists in our college actually it is reduced in the last sem due to COVID. The scholarship I received was-"Swami Vivekananda Means Cum Merit Scholarship".

There is a fest like the annual day of college. Social events like Teachers Day and Saraswati Puja happens in our college. The annual fest happens in December. Our library is very modernized and up to date. It has all books and journals. There are 4-6 fans in our classroom. There are sports activities like 100 m run, kabaddi and extracurricular activities like quiz contest happen in the college. There are no social groups and clubs run by students as far as I know.
