Entrance Preview

I did not take of the entrance exams to get admission in this college. I was a junior college student of this institution and found its study curriculum very healthy for a student stepping from school to college. The teachers were very welcoming. That's why I chose this college over several other colleges in Nagpur.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is the key feature which separates this college from other colleges in the city. It includes appropriate proportions of theoretical and practical knowledge accompanied by regular field visits. It helps a student to grow academically as well as socially with means of Various activities.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not provide any kind of internship while we are Studying in the Bachelor's degree. But yes, Students are encouraged to take up various internships off campus suggested by the faculty itself according to our interests. The college also conducts various social work programs.

Placement Experience

4

The placement and job opportunities are taken care by the "placement cell" of the college. Every year companies like WIPRO, IBM, Infosys, TCS etc. visit the college campus to recruit the best and the college gives them what they look for in an employee. Last year, 15 students got selected in WIPRO and 5 in Infosys.

College Events

4.5

SFS college is also know for the different events that are conducted through out the academic year. The year starts with the Orientation of the fresher's. It is followed by the Teachers Day celebration. Football ball and Cricket tournaments are conducted during October and November. They are followed by the Annual Day celebration which is a grand event.

Fees and Financial Aid

SFS college, Nagpur is known for its quality of education. To support that, the college also funds the education of economically backward students. It is a type of scholarship received by the eligible student. All the staff contributes some part of their salaries every month towards the scholarship money.

Exam Structure

The exam structure at SFS college is very competent for students with all the intellectual levels. It is very chilled out type. Two unit tests are conducted before the Semester exams. Students are guided well for the practical exam too. Practicals are conducted only twice a week for each subject and that too not for very long duration.

Admission

The admission procedure is very simple. You don't have bro worry about the formalities that we normally see in other colleges. As soon as my 12th standard result was I applied with all my documents for admission for Bachelor's course and got my admission done within a week.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
