Remarks

The admission process for me had happened purely only on online basis, as I was living abroad at the time. As I had not scored much in 12th, a reputed institute like Amity University became my first choice to secure a seat. I had read many reviews on sites like Collegedunia, Shiksha, Quora etc. and was quite satisfied with the reviews I had gone through. Also I had a few friends who had passed out of the college and they had given me a good feedback and encouraged me to take up admission at this college. The crowd at the college is one of the bad aspects I would say as many students do not seem to be interested in studies and therefore do not take their careers really seriously. This is a huge distraction for students who wish to concentrate in a peaceful manner. Another disadvantage is that the college is located in a remote area and therefore access can be difficult, i.e. to reach the college on a daily basis takes a lot of time and effort. The admission process for me consisted of an online interview based on academic and general questions. Also my 12th score was considered during the merit list process. I was exempted from the essay writing as they had judged that my English was fluent enough. To be honest, it is quite easy to secure admission here and this is the good aspect.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I chose B.Com (Hons) as I had studied commerce and was interested in a wide range of fields within the stream. The faculty to student ratio is 50:1, as Amity is known for giving admissions to a huge number of students being a private university. Most of the faculty are well-qualified with PhDs. The teaching method varies from faculty to faculty. Some are genuinely interested in teaching and use a number of methods such as classroom teaching, ppt presentations, role plays etc. Some do not care too much and expect the students to study and pass on their own. This is mainly due to the classroom environment, and some teachers feel it is difficult to teach properly. The term exams are held once in six months or so and consist of 70 marks, i.e. a majority of marks. It is not that difficult to pass, as many students study the night before and still manage to pass. But some subjects like Accounts and Maths need to be practiced and studied well before hand in order to ensure that one passses due to these being considered difficult subjects.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

Unfortunately no companies come for internship in my department as far as I know, and students have to find companies and projects on their own. Faculty and staff may be able to help in the process and at the most give references to their contacts but nothing more than that.

Placement Experience

1.5

Campus placements were available for students from the 5th semester itself. But to be honest, not a lot of companies come and I feel even the students which get selected are selected by the companies on a random basis and not based on any such criteria. HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Bajaj Allianz are the companies and hardly 20 students out of 100 students in my batch were selected. The highest package was for Rs. 6 lakhs per annum for a data analyst role in an IT company. The average placement would stand around Rs. 4 per annum, but some students go for it as many reputed companies also offer average packages. About only 20% of students from my batch got a college placement, which is quite disappointing to say the least. I did not sit for the placements at all, as I was clear with my intention of pursuing MBA once I graduated from college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty high compared to other colleges, but reasonable because of the infrastructure we get to experience.

Campus Life

3

Amifest is the annual fest which is usually conducted in the month of February. Students from different colleges across Delhi NCR are invited for this to participate and collaborate with students here. The tech fest is also held along with the annual fest itself and many events such as hackathon, gaming, robotics etc. are successfully conducted. The library is well-equipped with 3 floors of books and journals from various departments and of different subjects. The classrooms are equipped with a projector and some also have smartboards. Most of the classrooms are seminar rooms and therefore have the push back seats for the comfort of students. Various sport activities and competitions happen on campus. Clubs such as Ek Awaaz, Saakar etc. work for the welfare of society and do a lot of organized activities such as donations and drives. Apart from this, many students enroll themselves in the debating and public speaking clubs to improve their communication skills and also get rid of their fear of public speaking.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am in the computer science and engineering branch. I want to be a software developer and I am passionate about coding and I love to code that's why I am chosen this branch. The faculty members of my college are awesome and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. They cooperate with students in every situation . they focus much on the weak student so they can also pass the exam. they use the blackboard and smart classes both to teach the student effectively. we have industrial exposure also. the well built spacious will have no importance if not for the wonderful faculty the college has. All are faculty members are highly knowledgeable and done their post graduation from one of the top colleges like IITS. and most of the teachers are GATE qualified and even it is not once. they are writing the exam regularly. so, if you prepare for the GATE exam, then you can get great help from them. they used to prepare us for the GATE exam, along with academics

I am a Delhite and my college is on outskirts of Delhi and also i being residing near du north campus used to think i will enjoy the same college life. but being into a professional (b.tech) course gave me a different view of college and its life. i came to know how to lead a professional ethic life, learnt some good meaningful things.college management is getting strict day by day for laws against students but the other tasks like things that need to be get done from peon are not getting done. ac's dont work even after complaints. in total the college needs a great improvement else it will keep running the business with no fruits.
