Remarks
The incorporation of design in the curriculum, to get a more holistic approach to engineering. This would help me stand out from the millions of students during a classic engineering course with the core courses. We have design and managements courses in every semester beginning from sem 2. Also being a dual degree I would be able to pursue both a bachelors and masters in Computer Science.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is good, but a bit restrictive. Options to do a particular course is restricted to the time the college declares. The faculty is highly qualified, but some are not the best teachers. Clarity about the curriculum is are less, both on the side of students and faculty. This hinders students from extracting maximum value from what is offered at college.
Internships Opportunities
I'm currently a UI/UX Intern at a Emilda Solutions. My tasks includes designing and implementing web-designs for clients, in Adobe Xd and Webflow. I am also interning at the Teaching Learning Center as a Machine Learning Intern. TLC is a government funded entity which focuses on improving the quality of teaching in India. My current goals for the internship include, modeling and visual representing classical ML algorithms to aid professors during the process of teaching it to college students.
Placement Experience
The best placements are a result of the students effort and mostly found to other sources. The placement cell in college is not much help. Only pre final years can sit for placements. And the placement cell only caters to them. But the students find good internships and job offers from outside. Places like google (55 lpa), amazon (27 lpa), samsung, AMD, adobe (40 lpa) etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is same as all MHRD funded institutes. When offline it seems reasonable but during online classes it was not reduced enough. Far less than private universities though. Students can avail scholarships, but most are funded by the government and can be difficult to get.
Campus Life
Life is campus is above average. The people are what make the college life. There is a cafeteria, a convenience store, gym, basketball, tennis, volleyball, badminton courts. As well as rooms for table tennis, chess, carroms etc. There are also rooms for the music club, dance club etc. Other than the AC library there are other place where students and study and chill. The infrastructure is good. The number of students in the college are a but low. As there are only three branches for Bachelor's degrees.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good but management can be better. The rooms are large and hostels are new. Mainly there are 3, 15 story buildings that act as student hostels. Each room gets a balcony. Few washing machines are provided, but there is also a laundry service. The problem is 2 students are put in singles rooms, this is bearable as the rooms are big, but this is mainly due to improper management not lack of availability.
