IIT JEE, Pretty well to get mechanical, It was one of the best at that time and my friends were also opting for the same college which was also a reason to opt for this college.

The course curriculum is pretty well structured. Each semester some 4 to 5 subjects are offered. In the first 2 years you do not have the freedom to choose your subjects. From 3rd year you can choose some of the subjects of your choice which makes the curriculum very flexible. Beside you get the chance to work in research field in 4th and 5th year for your B.tech and M.tech project work.

Yes, my college provides internship under various professors. One can apply to the professor by mail and mention the project he is interested in. If there is need for an assistance the professor generally calls the student in summers for a two month internship under him. The stipend varies as some of the project works are sponsored and some are not. If the student works on a sponsored project he gets a stipend.

Spring Fest is the annual social and cultural festival of IIT Kharagpur, a pioneer in the elite institutions. It marks days of absolute ecstasy, providing the budding artists a competing platform in diverse fields such as music, dance, theater, photography, literature, fine arts, quizzing and debating.

The college provides Merit cum means scholarship to students who are financially weak (annual income less than 5L). The scholar ship provided under MCM scheme is almost equal to the tuition fee charged. The tuition fee of SC and ST students are waived. Beside various types of scholarships are provided to students who are excellent in academics.

We have a very wide alumni network. Our alums include current Delhi Chief Minister Mr. A. Kejriwal, Mr. Vinod Gupta and numerous other people who have succeeded in different fields.

We have two set of Exams in one semester. One is mid semester exam other is the End Semester exam. Then there are lab exams, viva etc. We have to attend labs regularly which are marked on a weekly basis. Exams are hectic with numerical and conceptual based questions which tests the basic understanding and ability to do hectic calculations.

I did rigorous coaching for two years which was completely dedicated to JEE preparation. A form was released. Got the form from the bank. Filled it. Gave the exam on one of the Sundays. And then waited patiently for results to come out. Was extremely happy when I heard I made into it. Finally did the counselling and selected the college.
