I took IIT,AIEEE as well as CAT(for cochin University CUSAT), I got average rank in AIEEE and good rank in CUSAT so decided to get admission into CUSAT .
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure was fair with respect to bachelor programme but focus on research was minimal considering the infrastructure and guidance available. There was other departments available where scope of research and development was stressed but due to inter department politics of college and of kerala people in general it couldn't been shown the light of day.
Internships Opportunities
No college faculty and specially the programme we underwent was not supportive of internship. As we approached our faculties for internship training and development, There was no support and encouragement from them.
Placement Experience
In terms of placements CUSAT can be termed as very poor place comparing with other government colleges and institutions. Quality of students specially in our batch was bright but as mentioned earlier due to inter department politics of college and of kerala people in general as well as centralisation of power and vested interests it couldn't have been a successful affair apart from few mid level IT companies visiting the campus as per usual trend.
Campus Life
Campus life was awesome as hostels were huge, sports facilities in hostels were fair and pupils were also very active in that. There was a huge field know as UG (university ground) , basket ball courts ,badminton and table tennis facilities in each hostels. Men's hostels used to organise typical Kerala cultural programs once a years and was celebrated by all of us.
Admission
Admission process involved simple rank based counselling and course selection. We were informed via mail of all the documents and demand draft, we were supposed to carry on the day of counselling. The big screens was properly installed a updated with rank based seats availability giving enough time to everyone for selecting course of their choice.
Faculty
Faculty was average and was not par with standard of a government college. Few permanent faculties were knowledgeable and was having hold in their subject but even they were not good teachers as it's demands quite a different technique. An Even the temporary faculties who were probably in most of the cases ex student of our college were very little informed about the subject.
