Entrance Preview
I am from the steel city of India i,e, Jamshedpur. Growing up in hometown where there were lot of manufacturing industries prompted me to pursue course in Mechanical Engineering. I got admission through AIEEE. I was happy to get a seat in KIIT University as I had already heard about KIIT, like it's faculty, infrastructure, placement and also it was not very far away from my hometown.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is very standard and as it is approved by AICTE, so it has to follow the standard curriculum and examination structure. There are various societies like robotics, automobile etc. where one can excel other than the regular prescribed course. There is scope of research too but mainly for students pursuing higher degree like M.tech.
Internships Opportunities
I passed out in 2012. So companies started to visit our campus for recruitment from mid 2011. Some of the top companies which visited our campus was Microsoft, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, Tata Power, Siemens, L&T, HSCL to name a few. The placement cell along with a student representative takes care of the placement. Average package was 3.25 Lac per annum.
Placement Experience
The University has a dedicated training and placement cell. Some students are also appointed by the placement cell to help and understand the need of the students. They also conduct pre-placement training which really helps for facing the on campus interviews and tests. Some of the top companies which visited our campus was Microsoft, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, Tata Power, Siemens, L&T, HSCL to name a few.
College Events
Various technical and cultural fests are conducted at KIIT University. First of all, annual college tech-fest called KRITANSH is huge. Seminars, technical model display, technical paper submission, along with various cultural programs like band performance, some national celebrity, visit of motivational speakers from various part of the country.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are awarded to meritorious students who have performed excellently in the KITEE examinations. Scholarship of up to 30% of total fee can be availed. Loan facilities are also readily available from various nationalised banks as the University has tied-up with them.
Alumni/Alumna
KIIT students are connected through Alumni forum. By remaining connected to this forum students can get news about the various events happening in the campus through university newsletters. Annually alumni meets are also conducted in various cities so that current and passed out students can share experience and opportunities.
Faculty
Faculty are highly qualified and supportive. They easily approachable after class hours also. Most of them come from various reputed institutions of India such as IITs, NITs etc. They provide lot of guidance during project work also. They encourage students for extra-curricular activities too for overall development.
