Remarks
I applied in Thapar, SRM, and JSS Thapar fee was too high for my family and I did not get any scholarship. SRM is very far from my home and we came to know about the drinking environment there. JSS is private and at last, we prefer to want a government college. I did not avail any quota for admission. The admission is based on the UPSEE exam held for many colleges in UP. The admission process was UPSEE Counselling. There were 4 rounds in it and then 2 special rounds for internal sliding After the counseling process ended, then the students are called to college to fill the form and to give all the details, and for submission of college fee. The college fee can be submitted either by bank or by a receipt.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the IT Branch because I got this in counseling after 4 rounds. Some professors are doing Ph.D. from this college simultaneously. Our institute is autonomous so the exam is not necessarily done by AKTU, The exams dates can also be changed, Our 1st sem exams have been completed now although all other institutes related to AKTU have done their exams according to AKTU. The exams are very easy and done by google form and simultaneously we have to join a meet with video on. Also for 1st sem, not CT was taken.
Internships Opportunities
Only some start-ups come to provide us internships and generally, students have to grab them off-campus. But IISC plays an important role in it because many connections are built up and they can be helpful to students.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible from the 7th semester for campus placements. Companies visited on the campus are TCS, Infosys, and some others. The highest package is 10 LPA and the average is 3.5 LPA. The percentage of getting placed is 80 to 90 percentage. My plan is to work in MNC.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for IT Branch is high because it is not funded by the government. The tuition fee of 1 year for general is 79000 rupees. And the hostel charges are 10000 rupees per year. Hostels are not so good. The scholarships are given on the basis of categories like ST, SC, and OBC. The average package is 3.5 LPA and mostly by TCS. But many seniors apply off-campus and the highest is 10 or 11 LPA.
Campus Life
Access to the online library from IIT Kanpur is given to us and many educational resources are given. I think the only focus of our college is on extracurricular activities. every week or every 15 days, a new thing comes. It may be related to music, art, senior meet to guide us, chess, photography, literacy, dance, and many others. There are so many social groups and clubs/councils: PFAC (Photography and Fine Arts Club) - For photography and drawing. Students go to different competitions held on IIT Kanpur. IISC- Innovation, Incubation, and Start-up Cell- For startups, It is directly linked to the government. Literacy Club- For content writing Source Code- Club for programming KNIT Sultanpur Broadcasting Channel- Youtube channel for freshers video Helping Hand Group- Made by seniors to help us and to guide us There are many other groups made my seniours like CS/ IT support group, literacy group, and many others Seniors.
Hostel Facilities
Unfortunately, as I did not live a college life offline, it is difficult for me to describe it. I don't know about this much. I only know that the rooms are for 2 people each. And according to the fee, it is good but compares to other colleges, it is not. That's all from my point of view.
