Remarks

The college management is good which accomplish the task of organising events and exams and class of such a large number of students.

Entrance Preview

I took the IIT JEE entrance exam and I got a composite score of 83.5. I chose this college because it is one of the best colleges and also situated in Pune. The college campus is at a great location and the campus is always full of life. The computer engineering course staff here is splendid.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is very well structured. In first year there is basics about different branches and in second year there are basics about computer engineering. Then in third year the focus is on cultivating and enhancing programming skills and finally the refinement and research is a part of fourth year of the course.

Internships Opportunities

My college does provide internship but as I am in second year of computer engineering course I am not having any internships right now. The seniors do tell that they get internships with satisfactory stipend and an overall good experience.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement and job offers are quiet decent with a selection ratio of an astounding 70 to 80 percent on an average every year. Companies such as Wipro, Accenture, Nvidia, Infosys and many others recruit from our college. Packages vary from 3.5 lacs to 7 lacs.

College Events

4.5

The most awaited cultural festival in the college is Sinhgad Karandak organised in January of every year. There are dance events, drama, fashion shows and competitions. There are sports competitions and technical events and workshops all packed in the Karandak. Celebs such as Farhan Akhtar, the Chain smokers, Jay Sean and others have had their concerts in Karandak. Around the year there are various technical and non-technical events and flasmobs. Mostly the college has something worth doing.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for open category students is 1 lac rupees which is expensive. But if your admission is through a category such as OBC, SC or ST the fee reduce drastically to about 57,000 rupees for OBC and lesser for other categories. The fees include tuition fees of one year and library subscription.

Fees and Financial Aid

No idea about loans and as my admission was through the DTE open category there are no scholarships for me. There are scholarships for other category students.

Campus Life

5

The gender ratio is about 3.6-4 to 5. The diversity is quite vast as there are students coming from different states of India asa well as a fair amount of international students. There is great ethnic, racial and religional diversity in the college. Extracurricular events such as Robot wars, meteor, BAJA, coding contests and treasure hunt are organised. Sports activities in different sports such as football, cricket, basketball, badminton, tennis are held. Most of the competitions are fun to participate and learn.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel is cheap and has three options. The rent needs to be paid annually. Cheapest is the normal consisting of hostel and mess for one academic year costing 60k rupees. There are four students in one room on sharing basis with attached bathroom. Fans, tube lights, beds and tables are given for free. In second option you have to pay 70k rupees for only hostel but includes the TV, gas for cooking and washing machine. Overall The hostel is quite nice and affordable. The mess are most terrible here. The food served is very bad and anyone who has eaten mess food wishes not to visit the mess again. That's the only disadvantage of the mess.

Alumni/Alumna

I have no information about the alumini of the college but the seniors are very friendly, helpful and interactive.

Exam Structure

There are 5 subjects with 50 marks in-sem and 50 marks end-sem papers. There are three labs with 50 marks practical exam and 25 marks term work or assignments. The syllabus is mostly chilled but gets hectic in the last two to three months of the semester.

Admission

I had to go through the centralized admission procedure by the DTE for my admission. My composite score was calculated using my 12th boards marks in PCM and the JEE. There were three rounds for admission and I got selected in the third round which is also called as counselling round. I had to fill up a form of choice codes of different colleges and branches. Also I had to visit my nearest DTE center which was in Amravati. I got admission on the spot.

Faculty

4.5

Most of the professors are highly qualified and interested in teaching their course while about a couple are sufficiently qualified and motivated about the courses they teach. All of them are always available for solving students' queries and helping them.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
