About my college

The College management structure was very simple, and getting information to the higher levels was also very easy. I liked the overall experience at UPES and would highly recommend it to others.

I took MAT entrance and scored 184.25, but there was an in-house entrance exam UPES-MET for specialized branches. the options i was provided was very narrow, UPES was the best choice,

The courses are designed while keeping in mind the Sector specialization the courses offered are meant for teaching a student specifically for a field. specialized courses are designed for making a student into a professional of their fields. i have opted for BBA(Oil & Gas Marketing) and my course was specifically designed for providing us all the information about oil and gas industry, every semester new specialized courses were introduced.

After the completion of 1st year, we were provided with the Internship for 6 weeks. we worked at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd for 6 weeks and were provided with a basic stipend at training level of Rs.10,000 for 4 weeks. The experience at internship introduced us to the real working of the industry.

After completing 2 years, college began the placement process. from 5th semester onward, we have been provided with induction courses for placements. there were a lot of companies who came for placement. like ESSAR, GE Oil and gas, Cairn India, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Air india and several others. our placement rate was 90%+ with our batch.

There were a lot of branches of different fields thus there were a large variety of events organized in the college. but the main event of the college was "UURJAA", its a 3 day long event which includes all sort of events of technical, cultural, management nature. and at the end of it there was a band Fest and we brought up with new bands every year.

The Fees structure was a bit expensive and when i took admission the fees was a bit nominal but as the years proceeded the fees got higher every year. the fees for a common BBA that year was 75,000 per semester, which was slightly higher then other colleges, but the next year fees for BBA was 1.2 lakh per semester.

There was a 15% scholarship for Uttarakhand domicile students because the university was established under Uttarakhand deemed university boards, other than this there was a scholarship for students who scores 85% plus marks. college also helped several students who were having loans for studies and performing very good getting there loans cleared and also provided with free hostels.

The college had a great gender ratio, there were almost equal boys and girls ratio. the in-house hostels were for boys only. college occasionally organized workshops for the students for different things. we had students from all around the india from all of the states and every body was equally treated by everyone else. even the faculties was from around the world.

There is a Hostel inside the college campus and you can get admission in the college hostel very easily for the first year, it is based on first come - first serve basis, book your hostel right on the time of admission and the fees was nominal and as same as other outside hostels. the fees that time was around 80,000 per year including food and accommodation.

The college seniors were very amazing, we got introduced to the seniors at 1st year and we learned a lot about the college, course and faculties from our seniors. we gathered a lot of study material and other sample question papers and a lot of helpful contents from our seniors.

The college had very beautiful infrastructure, everything was designed for relaxed studying, every class room was equipped with LED Projector and Screen for digital reading, mics and speakers were also there for better studying process. The Exams are organized twice every semester.

I have received the news about UPES-MET exam from an online website through some ads. i checked the college and university details and found the college and courses details very prompting. then i made detailed survey of the college and visited the college for procuring the registration and Entrance exam form of UPES-MET. After getting the results we were invited for counselling which included Group discussion, Personal interview and finally course selection.

The standards of the College Faculty was really good. all of the Professors were well professional and highly qualified. Mostly all of our faculty was Ph.D, and others were perusing it. A college is made better by its Faculty only. Our faculty was really very well educated and highly trained professional.
