Our college life before COVID-19

I had applied to Hansraj College in 2019 for a Bachelor of Chemistry and I have a quota of Caste, So I got some relaxation in the cutoff. The admission was dependent on the criteria of cutoff, So a student who got that marks could apply for a specific course. There were only those students who passed 12th grade, so age does not matter. After admission, there was a day when they called freshers to attend a counselling meeting.

I chose this course because I love this subject in my 12th standard. There was 1 theory professor for about 80 students and 2-3 professors for about 40 students. Our faculty is very educated. They had done their qualification from one of the best colleges and most of them had pursued PhD. There is a semester system which means exams are held twice a year.

There are many companies which offer internships in our college and generally, most of them are for desktop work. Internshala, let's intern are the portals that offer companies for internships. The stipend is about Rs 10000-40000. We have to work on a project that makes a group. We will get a certificate for that which helps in further interviews.

Students can apply for placements from the 5th semester. Many companies visited and we can choose according to our course or any other as well. Companies like PSU, financial work, etc. If you want to pursue post-graduation in that field so you do not need to do placements or apply for any other jobs like SSC jobs. 40% of students would like to do placement and others go for another thing like MSc, entrance exam preparation. After completing my graduation, I would like to go to SSC.

The fee for my course is quite more than others courses but it is relevant this course contains so many practical which need expensive instruments and materials. The fee is about Rs 25000 per year. There was a big scope for getting scholarships for unprivileged students. This scholarship was by the contribution of the faculty of our college for a needy student who does not effort that much of fee. There was an interview for that scholarship. There were also many internships under graduation of min. A stipend of about Rs 10000 per month.

There were lots of fests held on our campus and many celebrities came to fests. Hansraj's fest is very famous. They're generally held in February. There are all books available in our library and we can issue them for a week. Our classrooms were well facilitated. Sports facilities were also very good, there was every possible sport there. There were many societies in which we can participate like NSS, NCC, dancing etc. There is an Instagram account for our college and campus as well as a website.
