Entrance Preview

CET (score: 64), Because this was the common and most of the students going for engineering opted for this exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The staff keeps on changing, we often get to see new teachers except for the mechanical branch. We got excellent set of teachers in the mechanical branch. One thing that lacks is the English language as they find it hard to share their knowledge. Really hard for them to convert their thoughts into words in English.

Internships Opportunities

I haven't asked about the internship yet in my college but what I've heard is they won't support us with the internship thingy. The lectures which get missed aren't considered and we aren't spared at the end of the semester which results in detention or extremely low internal marks or them failing us in the vivas.

Placement Experience

1

No placement for Mechanical Branch yet. I might be wrong but I haven't seen or heard any mechanical student getting placed. Except for one I guess who got placed into Tech Mahindra. A year or two ago. But there were students from the other branches(especially ENTC) who got placed with handsome packages. Also the count of companies is increasing but not in case of mechanical engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

There's EBC scholarship where you get 50% of fees back if a student is economically poor. And also some scholarships depending upon of what caste you are. Like I being a muslim availed the MCM scholarship(merit cum means Muslim scholarship) which gives 25k(24500 to be exact) each year for those muslim students who apply for it.

Campus Life

5

The gender ratio is around 70/30. 70% ofcourse the male students. And in the mechanical department it's like 98/2. 98%of boys and the remaining girls. The labs are good except for a few which contains broken machines where the practical is to be carried out.

Exam Structure

The University is ruining everything. The exam period is very hectic. This is because of the useless submissions write-ups) which the teachers doesn't even check out the content but just tick mark blindly. Instead of wasting time writing stuff which doesn't have any meaning and in a race of finding professors to get the signature to complete the submission we could have put those hours into studying and could score good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.

I'm choosing this course because I'm interested in programming languages. Faculty members here are at the best level. They are very supportive and knowledgeable. They made lectures most interactive. All faculty members are well-qualified and experienced. The course is very vast but the teaching faculty cover it through their extra lectures and practicals.
