Remarks
I had not applied for any other college as from the beginning I was set to do BCom from Mulund College of Commerce itself. I had done my 12th from the same college so i could easily get admission for BCom course through Inhouse Quota reserved for the inhouse students. The minimum marks during my admission time were 89% in 12th for the BCom Course. In and all the admission process was pretty simple. the college provided us with a prospectus which contained a detailed description of all the procedures that are needed to be followed. The staff and administration at the campus were also very helpful throughout the process.
Course Curriculum Overview
Honestly I choosed to do BCom because I am already pursuing my Chartered Accountancy course as well as my articleship. Hence I wanted to opt for a course which will allow me ample amount of time to study for my CA exams and also ensure that I am able to complete my articleship as well. If you are doing Chartered Accountancy then you don't have to worry much about BCom studies as most of it gets covered in your CA cirriculum. Now the faculty at Mulund College of Commerce is really great. The professors there are from reputed career backgrounds like CA's and Lawyers. I really enjoyed the classroom experience as the professors always ensured our maximum participation. Speaking about the attandance, let me warn you the college seeks atleast 75% attandance throughout the academic year. That might be a problem for students who are parallelly doing professional courses, but I would say that's pretty manageable.
Internships Opportunities
I have not opted for the campus placement hence I have no information on the same. From what I have heard from my seniors companies like TCS do come for the placement. The interviews sre conducted in the campus itself. The professors help a lot during the overall placement process.
Placement Experience
The placements are available after the last year of the course. The placement offer received is really good and from reputed corporates. The college also exposes the students to the Summer Intern programmes which students can choose to do in their summer vacation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college fees are pretty affordable. Mine was almost 5000 PA. The college also provides scholarships and financial aid to students of backward caste and even Girl student Scholarships are available. College also provides books and materials for courses at very menial rates for students with low family income. Overall I think the college is quite a money efficient and totally worth it.
Campus Life
The college host many events throughout the year. There is Spectrum our annual college fest which is really fun. The college library is soo good. You can find almost any book from the finance and accounting field that you want. There are all kinds of sports competitions in the college. We have the NSS club for people who are interested in volunteering for Community Services.
