Entrance Preview

I had taken the WBJEE in the year 2012. I had a rank of approximately 3.5k in my state. I opted HITK because of the amazing infrastructure that it provides. ALso, the faculty was very qualified. The college looks into studies as well as overall development of its students. I collected these information from my seniors from school who studied in this college and hence decided to join here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is very well-planned. Every professor has a weekly target and planning. The course is taken adhering to this well-planned structure. Also, our department focused on research a great deal. Innovative ideas were always welcomed with a lot of enthusiasm by the professors. Equipment required to carry out the research were also provided to us from the college.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides for internships. A stipend of 3.5k is given. The internships help us to develop our knowledge in the latest technological domains that are cropping up. Hands on experience in these technologies help us to implement and learn better.

Placement Experience

4

Placement call does its own share of work judiciously. A good number of companies come in and every student is entitled for one job. Top It and core companies visited our college and offered salaries ranging from 2.4 lacs to 8 lacs. Out of 1000 students more than 800 students were placed with decent jobs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was very affordable. We had to pay around 40000 every semester. Also, there was TFW quota for those who qualified for it. The fee structure was never a problem for any student according to me. We could deposit our fees through cash or cheque. Most studnets paid through cheque.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship opportunities are provided in plenty to students. I personally havent taken any loan or havent heard of any loan given to students from the college. We are given links where we can apply for scholarships and get them on the basis of our respective elegibililty.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio was extremely skewed. Number of girls in the college were very less compared to the number of boys. There were many clubs like the debate and quiz club, the sports club, the rotaract club, the book lovers club etc. These clubs functioned actively in the area and improved the culture of the college.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility provided by college was decent and secure. They were quite stringent about the rules. A student was penalised if they violated the rules of hostel. The hostel also provided a variety of food to the hostelers. Healthy and tasty food unlike most other college hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

Our seniors were always very friendly and guided us through every dilemma that we had during our college life be it in academics or in personal matters.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of our college is very commendable. Our HOD and Prof Partha Basu Chaudhuri in particular have been my favourite mentors. The interest that they had in teaching us the core subjects was impeccable. They were the reasons why our department was chartered towards research work.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
