Silicon Review of Silicon Institute of Technology,Bhubaneswar.

I just applied for the Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar. The admission process was extremely smooth. Everything was conducted via mail and text messages. To get admission into my college first one has to get a valid Rank in JEE mains and should have passed the higher secondary examination. People below the rank of 90,000(General) were offered the Computer Science and Engineering Course. We had to present our mark sheets of the 10th std,12th std, and the JEE Mains scorecard on the counselling day. Along with these we also had to provide a Transfer certificate of the last attended school/college.

As I have a liking for computer science so I chose this course as well as the faculty here is excellent for Computer Science. The faculty: student ratio is excellent here 4:15. The teachers are always present there to resolve our doubts. The students, as well as the teachers, share a special bond with each other. Also, we have a separate faculty advisor for an amount of 30 students. Excellent confidentiality is maintained if we approach some issues.

The companies like Accolite and TCS often offer internships in the pre-final year. There are various roles like SDE, programme analyst, etc. Projects are assigned to the students and students may take the assistance of various faculties and industries to make their projects stand out.

Generally, students become eligible for placements from the 6th Semester for pre placements. Companies like Accenture, TCS, Infosys and Mindtree visit the college frequently. The placement percentage is 98%.

The tuition fee is Rs. 1,35,000. If somebody opts for a hostel it will cost an additional amount of Rs. 30,000. The security of the hostel is excellent. Medical emergencies are tended to with utmost care in the best hospital. The campus placement is great if the student is willing to study and work hard and gain some skills.

ISTE and CodeChef Silicon Chapter often conduct technical contests on a monthly basis along with hackathons. Apart from this cultural events like Rhythmnova and Noesis are celebrated annually by all the clubs. Silicon is aided with an excellent library with a variety of course books and competitive books.

Washrooms are cleaned on a daily basis for the hygiene of students. The meal is excellent here especially the vegetarian meal. Students are also provided with diary products and those who are lactose intolerant are given a special substitute. There is also an option of a sick meal. The registration process for a hostel is done online.
