Remarks
Minimum marks probably around 85+ in 12th with minimum 16yrs of age. The admission process was smooth. They had kept one day for all formalities and completed it pretty quickly. There was no counseling say as such but during the onboarding we were given full tour of college, had introductions with seniors, had introductions with classmates and introductions with teachers we will be interacting with in future.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was decided for me before choosing a college but chose this college for the course because it was on the top. The faculty-student ratio was decent. No class had a shortage of teachers at any point and no teacher was jobless during the whole course. Everybody was occupied evenly. The faculty was well qualified and very friendly. Teachers were always cooperative and helped whenever/how much ever they could. It would be great if teachers would make discussions more relevant to the present world. But overall they were good. Term exams were all timely conducted according to Pune University timetable at that time. As it's well-known, Pune University papers are not that easy to crack and it is true. The checking system was strict too and students had to prepare thoroughly to crack it. But it is all necessary as everybody realizes this in their last year.
Internships Opportunities
Internships were okayish. We had a 1month, without stipend, intership. The learning was good but the outcome was not satisfactory. Probably, if it we were given a project which can be done in the given time with max learning or more time with a stipend, it would've been more satisfying. The work was related to Android app development with a good purpose of connecting technology to normal people but very little time to execute and experiment.
Placement Experience
There are 8 semesters in total in an ideal course. Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. The placements go on till the end of the 8th semester. 100% of placements are done generally by the end of the course. Offers are decent in the range of 3-8LPA. Students are hired for various roles such as software developers, analysts, full-stack developers, et al. Companies are of all types ranging from mass-recruiters, MNCs to picky ones who only look for top-notch students. But everybody has a place and gets into one of them. Cross department placements are also accepted by some companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees were fixed for every year beforehand. The additional cost is related to books to buy (which can be purchased/borrowed second hand), cultural+technical events and any other workshops which are organised. Fees hike for the next batch joining (not sure about the exact%) Campus jobs are decent. Every year 100% placements occur. As it is a sister college of VIT, some companies from VIT also allow VIIT students to participate. I was placed in data analytics company on campus with a 7LPA package.
Campus Life
Campus Life is good here as you interact with students of your type but coming from varied backgrounds. Sports events are conducted regularly and students actively participate in them. VIIT savored good place on inter-college competitions too (Volleyball, Cricket, Football, etc.) There are tons of extra-curricular activities to explore such as Robocon national-level event team, Supra car-making team, debate competitions, etc. Most of the events are organized by students from scratch with the help of seniors and are for students. All the cultural events, technical workshops, competition-related teams, college magazine making teams,s and many more.
