Overview on Silicon Institute Of Technology

I had only applied to the Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar. I thought of applying to another private college in Bhubaneswar but then Silicon is the most feasible and with a decent campus result so I went for silicon. One should have a rank above 2 lakh for cse in silicon, for the exact rank details you can check the ojee cut-off list. There are no minimum marks or age as such but you need to apply for ojee counseling. There are donation seats but I do not know about it. First, you need to apply for ojee counseling for being eligible to apply for the college. There were 3 days of counseling, both online and offline mode was available. You need to deposit a demand draft of 3/4th of the total fees on the day of counseling,i.e Rs.50000.I had gone to the college for counseling. I filled a form and had to show my original certificates for the counseling. I also signed a no-raging affidavit. They would take your photo for the id-card. the process was really smooth.

I choose this course because this field has great opportunities. If we are talking branch-wise, the ratio of students and teachers in cse is 120:32. Most of the faculty of cse branch are phd holders or have done mtech. As in the first year, we are taught the subjects of every branch we had only 2 teachers of cse branch, but they were very patient and always ready to help. You can even WhatsApp them your code and they help you out. Our first year was a span of 7 and half months. Our exams were timely conducted without any problem through online mode.

From 7th sem one is eligible for placements. Companies like Infosys, Mindtree,Wipro etc comes to the college. Most of the companies are mass recruiters Average package=3.6 lakh. Almost 80% of students get placed. Silicon encourages GATE Aspirants.

The total cost of study for 4 years is 6 lakhs including the bus fare. You can apply for a scholarship under the Odisha govt. if your parent's income is less than 8 lakhs. You can go to their site for more information.

Switch club and Robotics club perform tech fest. The annual fest takes place in Feb. You can issue any book for a fortnight from the library, the semester book can be issued for the whole semester for Rs. 50 for each book. Silicon has 2 basketball courts, a volleyball court, and a football court. There are enough chairs for the students, a projector, a whiteboard for the teachers, and a podium. There are many clubs in the college such as meta academic cell, creative club, sports club, Zeal club, coding club, music club, dance club, etc.
