Remarks

One of the biggest reasons why I wanted to choose IIFT was that I wanted to do get an international overview. And when I wanted to do an MBA, I wanted to do something that has an international patio. So, that was given me IIFT. Secondly, I was also learning a foreign language which would be later on helpful if my domain was a trade or something related to finance and trade. So, again that was the flagship course of IIFT. So, that was another reason. Then the third thing is that it comes directly under the government. That would be a lot of opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

My first year has gone online. So, I've not really met the faculty & person. But the course structure is very interesting like the first ascent has the subjects which were very basic, which bring everybody on the same platform. As engineers, commence students, Arts students, they are all brought up at the same understanding level in terms of technical subjects like accounting, economics, and statistics. Then eventually the subject is IIFT terms more towards the international side of techniques like we have international economics, we have international financial management, then we have international marketing management and subjects like those. So, that's how the course goes.Whereas coming to faculty, the faculties are really really experienced and we have some really famous author also who come and teach us as guest lecturers. Other than that, I don't particularly have favorite subjects as per but being a commerce student, I do enjoy the finance subjects as I had so far. So, in the current ascent, we have international management. So, that is going interesting.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

For summer placement we had a median of 2.42 lakhs I think.

Placement Experience

4.5

Based on last year's report, we had some companies come in like Reckitt Benckiser, TCPL for marketing. Then for finance, we had companies like ICICI, JPMC, Goldman Sachs. So, you can find this on the website as well. Based on the 2020 placement report the average CTC was around 20.5 lakhs. There is some international offer also that were made. So, those were around 75 lakhs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course fee is around 18 Lakhs and the scholarship I'm not well versed. So, I don't think I'm the right person to tell you.

Campus Life

3.5

In our college, considering the covid we want to do a lot of fests online. So, we started off with like when we have just been entered into the college a case competition was conducted by our college club. And we have other similar case competitions conducted by different clubs and cells. The biggest event that I heard about so far is Tradewinds. That is a trade summit where we had industries come here and takes on different domains like marketing, finance, etc. That is one and currently we had an inter-college fest going on it now.

Admission

To get into an MBA college, the preparation starts almost a year in advance. You have your exams for which you have signup. The first exam that comes out is CAT. After that, you have a couple of exams that come out like SNAP, IIFT, NMAT, XAT, etc. After that, your score comes out based on which you get shortlisted for whether you are eligible for the GD-PI process of certain colleges where it applied to. So, based on that you then go for your GD-PI process and based on your performance over there you get shortlisted for admission. So, in case you get shortlisted in more than one college which is up to you. This is how admission goes to an MBA college.I had first given CAT. After that, I gave IIFT, NMAT, SNAP, and XAT. One thing about IIFT that I really like that the fact is it comes directly under the government. So, there is also a lot of scopes for the life project and there is a lot of scopes for your learning in an actual scenario. You get hands-on experience from industries and there is an opportunity to work under them. That is one thing that I really like about IIFT. Also, we have a lot of talks that happen every week. The few WAT topics that I remember were artificial intelligence going to take our job. That was one WAT topic. Then there was one which was the abstract topic. It was something like how power exists. Then there was a topic that is AI-related. There was a lot of topic that was AI related &digital transformation related. In the case of AI, I'm a commerce student. So, I don't really understand the working of it. And I don't think they expected to know the working of it. They told us to apply our mind and figure out where actually it can be used. For the specific topic of AI snatching a job how I thought about it was that in my mind I divided the different kinds of industries we have. Then, based on that I started thinking about where all AI is applied currently, and then that I found out where exactly AI replace human beings for example in the aviation industry.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
