Course Curriculum Overview

There are a total of 48 credits. In a year, we have three terms. Each term is a three month course. If we have a course of entire term, then it have 3 credits, and if we have a couse of half term, then it have 1.5 credits. The first year questions is based on case study and theoritical and the second year questions is entirely based on theoritical.

Class Size: 280Course Fees: INR 2300000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The average stipend offered during the summer internship is around 1.25 lakhs and the medium stipend offered is around 1.6 lakhs per month. Aditya Birla Group, PWC, Avendus Capital, BCG, Microsoft, JPMC, etc are the companies that recruit students during the summer internship programme.

Placement Experience

For final placement, consulting and finance are the most dominant sectors. 50% of the recruitment are done from this two sector. The companies that come for final placement are A. T Kearney, Bain, Amazon, Master Card, Goldman Sachs, ITC, Adobe, etc.

Hostel Facilities

The food of the hostel is good. There is a variety of food. The hostel provides facilities like shared bathroom, Washing Machine in every floor, etc. There are New hostel and Tagore hostel which were allocated to male whereas Old hostel and Ramanujan hostel is co-ed.

Admission

My Group Discussion was based on a general topic which lasted for 25 minutes. The personal interview round was mainly focused on extra curricular, Mathematics, etc. The questions for the personal interview was realistic and based on the concepts.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

THERE ARE FAR BETTER OPTIONS

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

The eligibility for this course is having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 55% of marks and then the cut off for CAT exam varies from student to student. They calculate the composite scores for every student considering different factors like academic background, work experience, gender diversity, past academics, etc. I would recommend that the institute should have a fair shortlisting criteria which should be disclosed to everyone because I saw people topping the CAT exam still not getting calls from institute because of their strict criteria especially for general engineer male....Read More

Enrolling at IIM Kolkata was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I enrolled in an MBA at IIM Kolkata due to my strong interest in the subject. My growing interest in business and management prompted me to apply for this programme, which I intended to complete entirely at IIM Kolkata. I had to submit my CAT score as well as my undergraduate, 12th, and 10th-grade mark sheets when I applied.
