Is it worth going in SKNCOE?

I got this college through Maharahtra engineering counseling. Since I am an outside Maharahtra student (OMS) my JEE Mains marks were considered for the counseling. This college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, which is ranked among top 10 Universities of India. Also Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Engineering is established under Sinhgad Institutes, so it has decent exposure for students.

Smt Kashibai Navale College of Engineering is a tier 3 college. So my honest recommendations after personal experience would be that if you want to apply here, go for Computer Science and Information technology. Course and curriculum is all under Pune University, which is lastly upgraded in 2019. It has latest technologies like python, java, c++, data structures, operating system etc. Recently added with Data science course. So you'll get good quality syllabus. Good level of examination. Talking about facalty, it's decent level facalty. Most of them have masters degree. They are really concerned about students. They do a lot of hardwork to make students understand the topics. They'll provide notes, pdf, sample papers, reference notes.Faculty student ratio is decent too i.e. 1:30

I got an internship opportunity in web development sector in an American based healthcare company NeoDocto Inc. in 6th semester. But it was through off campus.My work here was related to WordPress, building static web sites (front end).Here in SKNCOE if you are from Computer Science/Information Technology, you'll get ample opportunities for internship. For example: My roomate from CS got selected in Nvidia for internship with 22k stipend in 6th semester (on campus). Whereas other branch students don't get that much opportunity.You can definitely sharpen your skills and apply for various internship through off-campus.

Students of Computer Science and Information technology start getting the PPO (pre-placement offers) from 6th semester only. Whereas proper Placement for all branches starts from 7th semester.Companies like Snowflake, Nvidia, EQ Technologies, Persistent, PTC, Cognizant, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, Amazon, etc. comes here for placements.Highest package: 25-30lpa.Average package: 4.5lpa.Placement percentage: around 60%Mainly here you'll get IT companies, specially those companies which have their offices in Pune itself.Particularly for ENTC, average package: 4lpa.Highest package: 7lpaPlacement percentage: 50-60%

BE Fees is around 85000-95000 per semester for general candidates. Students who come under some reservation criteria and are also from Maharashtra, get huge amount of scholarships. Generally 50% to 90% fees is waived off by Maharashtra government. But there's no scholarship for outside Maharahtra students.Also for students whose family income is less than 1.5 lpa can get chance to work for campus with stipend provided around 2000/- on monthly basis.

Life is absolutely amazing here in the campus. Being located in a beautiful city Pune, campus has all leisure around in city. Be it natural world or glamour, both are present here around the campus. People around are kind, helping. Outside Maharahtra students can sometimes face language barriers here.College clubs are very good. They conduct various big events. For example: Karandak event conducted by student council is the biggest event in Pune. There are all types of college clubs available here like coding club, Ecell, technical club, robotics, department clubs etc.Classroom are good in terms of amenities. Large in size, equipped projectors. Labs are of decent quality with all required machinery and technologies. Teachers are really helpful when comes to practical learning.One of the best features of the college is the library facility. It's a 4 storey building with 24x7 hrs facilities equiped with wifi, lift, newspaper and computers. Every floor has huge sized study halls. Student will get all kinds of books and e-book here. Students can easily borrow books for study purpose.

Hostel facility is excellent here. There are more than 10 huge boys and girls hostel. You'll fell in love with the location. Since college is constructed over hills, it makes the hostel experience beautiful. Hostel fees: 65000 (mess included)Big rooms, decent mess facility, 24hrs water (hot/normal), big and many play grounds (football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, race track), swimming pool, gym etc. All hostel have personal security gaurds with a police station build inside campus.Boys Hostel timings: 4am to 12pm (1st yr) & 24hrs in and out (2nd yr onwards- no restrictions)Girls Hostel timings: 6am to 9pmThere are many private PGs available too inside campus, if you want to live in private. They too are available at reasonable rates.

Admission is done through two major exams i.e. JEE mains and MHTCET exams.JEE Mains for Outside Maharahtra Students (OMS).MHTCET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) for Maharahtra students.15% seats are booked under Management quota also.
