The MBA is a two-year regular flagship programme of the Department of Management Studies, School of Management, Pondicherry University offered since 1986. With 34 batches, it has gained strength in terms of its market standing and 2300+ strong alumni network all around the globe. It is the best for MBA studies.
Course Curriculum Overview
End semester examinations is under CBCS Scheme. The completeexamination program is made 100% internal. The faculty member who teaches thesubject will set the question paper and evaluate the answer scripts, enter the marks inSAMS takes the print out and brings to the Programme Committee meeting forapproval. Lectures, Case studies, Application exercises, Group or Class learning activities,Experiential Exercises are conducted by the teachers. Highly qualified and experienced faculty members guide us and motivate us to shine as all-rounders which attracts top core manufacturing, service, IT, banking, insurance, retail companies among others visit campus for placements.
Placement Experience
Above 90% students got placed. The highest package was 7 LPA and the average was 3 LPA. The recruiting companies were: THOMAS COOK, COX & KINGS, EASE MY TRIP, ACCENTURE, BANK OF AMERICA, COGNIZANT, HCL, INFOSYS, TCS, and many more. I got placed with TCS with a package of 5 LPA.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The scholarship is based both on the merit in each semester(SGPA) and the parental income of the student. The annual income of the parents should not exceed 2,50,000/- (Rupees two lakh fifty thousand only). The Governments of various states provide Government of India Scholarship to the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC communities.
Campus Life
The Health Centre of Pondicherry University functions round-the-clock in association with Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences with limited facilities for the benefit of students and staff. An ambulance is also available for emergency medical care. A 16 station multi-gymnasium including one treadmill, one bicycle ergo meter, one bicycle elliptical meter, physiotherapy equipment, microwave diathermy, ultrasound, infrared indications and electrical muscles stimulation equipment is also available. The university conducts regular national level tournaments every year with the support of various sponsors.
Hostel Facilities
At present, Pondicherry University has twenty two hostels in the campus, of which, fourteen are for boys and eight are for girls. Out of the fourteen boys hostels, ten are for PG courses and four for Research Scholars. Out of eight girls hostels, seven are for PG students and one is for Research Scholars. The Karaikal Campus has two hostels one for Boys and one for girls. One boys hostel and one girls hostel is available at Port Blair Campus also. Dining in the hostel messes is compulsory for hostel students. The messes offer meals at reasonable rates.
Admission
Bachelors degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% of marks is required. Admissions will be based on CAT scores, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The interview is conducted to assess one's knowledge and skills.
