Value for money

The admission process was simple. Applied on hstes website for counselling. You have to go physically to get your certificates verified after that the online counselling will begin. It took 3 rounds of online rounds and 2 spot rounds. The process is transparent and students are only admitted on a merit basis. I am a general student and didn't have any quota. I secured a seat in the mechanical branch in the first spot round. After that fee was paid through a debit card.

I chose mechanical as I love to design and manufacture things. The course is fine and is according to the UGC guideline. The faculty is well experienced and have in depth knowledge about the course they are teaching. Final sem exams are difficult to pass and one needs to study real hard even if he wants to pass the exam.

Tata motors, Daikin, Voltas, Panasonic, tata advance systems, Maruti Suzuki, escorts Kubota, Jindal steel and many more companies visit for mechanical placements. Projects and research work are often provided to the interested student.

A lot of companies visit YMCA and it's mentioned on their website which gets updated frequently. The highest package for cs students goes upto 28 lakh pa while for mechanical it is 11-12 highest. Avg at 4 lakh. Most of the students indenting to join a job get placed.

Fees are on the lower side and there are a lot of scholarship opportunities for students where reserved category students have near to no tuition fee. Ews category students have the option to avail themselves scholarships too. Financial assistance is provided by the college committee. Internships are provided on campus and placements are better than a lot of colleges comparing even people in mechanical get placed easily.

Social life depends completely on what kind of person you are. There are a lot of clubs where you can take part in and find like minded people. The campus size is small & it is congested. The sports facility is slightly on the weaker side. A library is a decent place to spend time and to study. The canteen is okay. I spend most of my time doing projects and making parts in tmr BAJA (the club for buggy making).
