Remarks

The admission process was quite simple. All the interested students were required to fill DU's form. Within 2 months of form filling, cut off's were out and students choose colleges based upon their merit and convenience. Almost 6-7 cut off's came so that students had a fair chance to be the part of the college they like based on their merit and to change the college as per their wish.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It's one of the Top Colleges not only of DU but also of India which provides commendable education for women in Commerce,Arts and Science stream so being a Commerce student and having an immense interest in this field I opted for under Graduate in Bachelor of Commerce. The faculty-student ratio is around 40:1 which is quite good. The Faculty qualifications are PG and Ph.D. with various Rank Holder in different categories.Teachers are much experienced and have a great command on their subject. Teaching methods are appreciable even in online mode all the needed explanation, notes ,PPTs are given to us. Semester exams are conducted by University, not College so College has no role in it but internal assessment which includes tests and assignments is done smoothly. But semester exams conducted by universities sometimes face technical glitches. Students can pass semester exams easily but for getting high scores much effort are needed, conducted 6 times in a 3 year course.

Internships Opportunities

4

The placement cell organizes many internship programs for students. Many seminars and workshops are also conducted. Companies like EY, Business Outlook , Google Ad words etc. provide internship opportunities. Roles in areas of digital marketing, HR , content creation, analysis etc. Starting stipend is although low ranging between 5000-10,000.

Placement Experience

4

The students start getting placement opportunities from 1 year only which increases their confidence and chance of getting placements. The students start getting placement from the end of the second year only. Companies like Inshorts, ITC group, FIS global, Deloitte etc. visit for placements. The highest package offered is 12lpa by Josh talks and the average placement being 4.5 LPA. Around 70 percent of students from the commerce Department get placement. My plans are of higher education after getting a degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees hike policy in gargi college is rarely followed. Students have to pay the same amount each year for three years. Also departmental fees is moderate which is taken once in a 3-year course. So the cost of the study is affordable and worth giving. Although getting admission in gargi on a merit basis is a difficult task. Many scholarships are provided to students based on their financial conditions and performance. The average placement of gargi college is 4.5 LPA for undergraduates. Commerce society helps students in getting good internship opportunities with stipend. The fee for bcom is 12500 INR approx. for 1 year which is quite affordable.

Campus Life

4

Riverie is the annual cultural festival of gargi college which is the best fest among all the colleges of DU conducted usually in the month of February. It's a starstruck moment for everyone as people from the entertainment industry performs. The library is open for all students and semester books are provided to students without any fee. The classrooms are quite humble and simple. But computer labs are advance and computers with modern features are present. Our college's society is quite recognized and well functioning which includes NSS and GSS(social group) , Placement cell, marketing society, anubhuti , enliven, glass eye, quilluminati, nazaakat etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Gargi has much better rankings by NIRF(16th). Plus GGSCC is a off campus college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
