Remarks
I applied for Chitkara university but didn't go for the further process of admission there. I got the Punjab quota while admission to Thapar Institute. The minimum cutoff for the ECE branch was 70 and 90 for the COE branch (in Punjab quota). We were all made to wit outside the Main Auditorium and people were called in for document verification according to their marks.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose ECE because I was not eligible for the COE branch and this branch had a good amount of placements as compared to other branches. 250 students in our batch of 2017. Labs for experiments are quite old and lack advanced technology. Exams were held twice a semester and were okay to pass (not too hard to pass).
Internships Opportunities
The number of companies that offered full-time + internships is around 70 out of 100, some companies are Optum, Samsung, Apple, Goldman Saches, JPMG etc. No specific projects just a good CGPA and good luck is required :)
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester onwards students are eligible for placements, in 2020 around 100 companies appeared for placements, and the major offered profile during placement is Software developer. The highest package was 35LPA and the average was 8LPA. from COE branch 100% placement, ECE brach 70 % placement, and other non-circuit branches 30 % placement. My plan after the degree is to go for Foreign education.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is quite high as compared to facilities provided, Scholarships are provided, and on-campus placements are good for COE and ECE branches. Also, the college does not provide any kind of financial assistance to the students.
Campus Life
There are a huge number of societies and college fest available in the college, which keep students engrossed throughout the year, there is a good library facility available, which a huge range of books for students and faculty. Classrooms are good, but not AC. only Labs are equipped with AC. Every kind of extracurricular activity is available on the campus.
Other Applied Colleges
