Remarks
Getting a good rank in WBJEE or JEELET or JEE Main will lead you to choose this university and get metallurgical engineering, so prepare for those mentioned exams, definitely through counseling you will get it. After getting confirmation from Board you have to fill an online form with all documents and pay 1st sem fees and you will be a part of KNU. Don't worry it is quite a simple process.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose metallurgical engineering because I have already completed a Diploma in it. The course curriculum is very descriptive type, a lot of subjects are there and all are important subjects. As class strength is only about 17 so student Faculty ratio is good. Every faculty is having a Ph.D. Degree and industrial experience. Semesters are tough so learn very attentively.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are still now have not yet been started but our TPO and HOD promise us to get an internship at IIT KGP, NIT Durgapur, Tata Steel, Tata Metaliks, Jaibalaji steels, and local industries. But already NML Jamshedpur organized a 3-day training and from 27th Sep 2021, they are going to start an Industrial training online.
Placement Experience
We are the 1st batch so we actually don't know about B-Tech placement but Diploma candidates got a job average of 14000/month - 15000/month so comparing with it we expect to get a job at least 20,000/month. Let's see what is waiting for us. I will not accept any offer of Job I am writing the review for my friends but I will choose to complete M-Tech. If you want to get a job in placement so you have to maintain 75% attendance and a 7.5 CGPA minimum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is high. They offer financial assistance and scholarship facility but still, fees are high enough to manage in spite of being a Govt university. The provide campus placement we have seen our juniors of Diploma portion get jobs from here.
Campus Life
Campus life is good, huge campus, cleaned airy, greenary is all around. Classrooms are really beautiful and have the scope of audio-visual experience. Labs are awesome. All kinds of cultural activities and programs are arranged department-wise like ours from the School of Mines and Metallurgy Division.
